It’s been said that people don’t really get to see much of my life or get to know me well because I’m a private person. Okay. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Here’s my life from 7 am to 7 pm. It’s not that interesting lol P.S. Walked again today. Hated every second. My mile took 27.14 because I was walking like I was in quicksand lol P.P.S. I’ve never actually seen quicksand outside of Mario. Why was that such a childhood fear? 🤦🏻‍♀️ #HeyTilesa #DayInTheLife #LivingTheDream #PlantMom #ROxKW

LADY VIKS SENIOR BALLER SPOTLIGHT Lexie Yates is a player that Coach Elliott calls an “energy giver.” “She constantly encourages and builds up her teammates,” says Coach Elliott. “When we talk about what we want our culture to be, Lexie’s attitude is a big piece to that puzzle. She is coachable and has done a great job creating a welcome environment.” One of Lexie’s teammates spoke to this. “She is everybody’s biggest supporter. She always has the highest energy and is the one to pick you up when you need it.” It is safe to say that there will be a huge hole needing filled next year when Lexie takes all that positivity to the University of Idaho. When she gets to Idaho, Lexie will be coming in having already acquired her Associates Degree, so she is looking to be there for three years and leave with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees as an athletic trainer. He big goal is to work in the professional sports world traveling as a team trainer. Besides basketball, Lexie is also an accomplished goalie that played varsity for the PHS state team-her this last season as well as a varsity tennis player. Her favorite athlete is Alex Morgan. A few of her favorite things are quilting, gaming, and playing with her dog. Her favorite books are Hunger Games and Harry Potter and her favorite movie is “10 Things I Hate About You.” Her parents are who she looks up to the most. “They have always been there to help me and never let me give up on my dreams.” Asked to give us some memories and advice, this is what she had to say: Best memory: “In my junior year I was out with a hip muscle imbalance. When I was able to start playing again, I soon become a starter for JV and was able to make a big impact.” A great lesson in overcoming! Lexie’s advice to the younger players: “Have a good attitude and be coachable. You don’t need to be the best of the best, but always be coachable.” That is great advice from a kid who has always embodied those words. You will be missed, Lexie, but we will always be your biggest fans. Viking for life!
