The City of Homestead was thrilled to celebrate the ribbon cutting of our newest Little Library at Mayor Roscoe Warren Park, where dozens of children and families joined us to mark the occasion.

Stocked and maintained by the Homestead Cybrarium, this community book exchange invites everyone to take a book, leave a book, and share the joy of reading with others.

This new addition is part of our Parks & Recreation Month celebration and marks the third Little Free Library in our parks system, joining locations at Losner Park and Audubon Park, which was inaugurated earlier this month.

Together, we're creating more opportunities for residents of all ages to connect, explore, and discover the magic of reading—one book at a time.

Homestead. The Future Lives Here.

⏰ 6 DAYS LEFT. Both Miami library reading challenges close August 1. ⏰

If your kid has been logging all summer, don’t let this one slip. And if they haven’t started yet, you can still sign up and log this week. Both are completely free.

📚 @miamidadepubliclibrary is running “We the Readers” for ages 18 and under. Weekly brag tags with a new design every week, coupons for treats at local restaurants, and a Reading Achiever Medal for finishing all 8 challenges. Everyone who registers is automatically entered in the grand prize drawing for gift cards, museum memberships, and sports tickets. Drawing happens the week of August 3.

🌍 @cybrarium in Homestead is running “Passport to the World.” Kids log reading MINUTES in the Beanstack app and earn a badge every 20 minutes. Hit all 10 badges and keep logging anyway, because every extra badge is another entry in the grand prize raffle at their celebration on August 8.

Here’s the part most Miami moms don’t realize: a Cybrarium card is FREE to every Miami-Dade County resident, not just Homestead families. So your kid can do BOTH challenges. Two libraries, two sets of prizes, same books they were already going to read. 🤯

And if August 1 sneaks past you, these are still open:

🍕 Camp BOOK IT! runs through August. Monthly reading goal = free Personal Pan Pizza.

📖 Barnes & Noble takes journals until August 31. Read 8 books = a free book.

🎮 Chuck E. Cheese runs year-round. Two weeks of reading = 10 free play points.

School’s back August 13. We rounded up 14 free programs total. Full guide, link in bio 💛

Which challenge is your kid finishing this week? 👇
