🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃 Celebrating the triumph of my first Ironman 70.3 🏅
•
Reflecting on the journey reminds us that success is not just about accolades but about the passion and purpose behind each step. Let this victory be a beacon, urging everyone to dream big and reach for seemingly unattainable goals. To my students, family, and friends – may my journey spark the courage to embrace the wild and uncomfortable.

Don’t linger in contemplation; discard the excuses and JUST START! 🌟

If you are interested in applying to be on TEAM WACO, applications open up for next years class on January 1st!

It’s been a few weeks since the race and I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on not just the race but the whole journey over the last 6 months. Starting with the race, I could spend hours analyzing the details. The swim was so so, the bike was strong (and the windiest ride of my life), but my race, and really my journey, ended up being defined by the run.

After biking into the wind, my back tightened up so much into the run I ended up having to walk the first 5 miles. By the end I was so frustrated that I was only able to run 8 miles when my goal was to run the whole time. I told that to @coachcross70 at the finish line and he laughed and reminded me that the first few track runs just earlier this year I could barely run a few laps. That little reminder had put my entire race and training journey into a pretty simple perspective for me.

So in reflection, what a privilege it is to only have been able to run 8 miles at the end of my race. What a privilege it is to have had this journey that has grown me as an athlete and as a person. What a privilege it is to feel the love and support of so many people.

What a privilege it is to be a part of Team Waco

🚨🚨Training Update!!🚨🚨

It has been a little over 24 hours since I completed Ironman Waco 70.3, and I still don’t have words to fully say everything that is in my heart and mind. IT IS FINISHED!! 🙌🙌

Soooooo, I’ll start by saying thank you!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me in this journey over the last year, it has been such an adventure pushing myself beyond what I ever thought possible. To my wife, @kasiemcadam, thank you for always supporting me and cheering me on through all my craziness. Thank you to my family for being there on race day, especially my mum who came all the way from Singapore to watch me finish this race. Thank you to @wacosports for creating #TEAMWACO and for all the support throughout these last 8 months. You guys are AMAZING. Thank you to my teammates from TEAM Waco, there’s no one else I would rather have ran this race with! Thank you to all our TEAM Waco sponsors - I would NOT have finished without your support. Thank you to all my friends who showed up on race day, who prayed for me, or have supported me in the last year - y’all have kept me going!
Lastly, thank you to @jose_vallejo19 for being an amazing training partner and friend in this journey. Heartbroken to see you get injured before race day and not be able to race this year, but can’t wait to see you cross that finish line next year!

I am SO STOKED to say that I met my personal goal time on this race, BY SEVENTEEN SECONDS! 🙌
From the moment I jumped in the water until the moment I crossed that finish line I had SO MUCH FUN. (And I also suffered a lot) It was such a blast to be out there with over 1500 other people in this race. I also thought many times during this race “PEOPLE DO DOUBLE THIS?! NO THANKS”
So so thankful for this opportunity and to have the ability to complete an Ironman 70.3. You are capable of more than you think!

I am so thankful for this journey, looking forward to taking some time off before jumping into whatever comes next!!

If you have any questions, let me know!!
