The first meaningful connection with @cyeshaforde was back in 2015 when we produced FORTY-ONE, a multi-layered project in the context of the PanAm Games: we were looking for local photographers to capture Esplanadians for the creation of a photo exhibit. Cyesha joined the artistic team and did fantastic – we were thrilled for this new connection. Since, she has been directly involved in “Queens of The Esplanade”, “At Heart” and other Jamii projects, including LAINI. It is an honor to have such a talented woman in our immediate network, a dedicated neighbour who is inspiring hundreds of youths to pursue higher education, an outspoken peer who opens the way for other women, a pillar in our community who is caring intergenerational social commitment to our neighbourhood.

It’s 3:30am here in Melbourne & I’m prepping both my gear & my mind for the @24hourproject. There is nothing that makes me feel more alive at this very moment than the ability to challenge myself through a craft I’ve chosen.

I’ve drawn so much different inspiration from the different people & neighbourhoods here in Australia, since moving to Melbourne in December last year & I can’t be more thankful for the opportunity to build with the community here. While there is still so much that I’m still learning through my journey, the best way I can celebrate the humanity that is making a difference here is to tell their story from my lens.

If you see me on the streets & you have a story to share about how we can start making a difference for humanity I'll will capture your portrait to share with world. I'll be covering hoods from Melbourne & beyond to the outer boroughs so holla if you see me!
1 Photo, Every Hour, For 24 Hours with a crew from #Melbourne to #Toronto sharing their vision of portraits of humanity.

You can catch the behind the scenes on snapchat (Follow snappedbythekid) with the personal captures on instagram via @thekidsid & a curated selection from the #hardknockcollective team via @hardknockleader

20.5 hours to go & counting, I’m ready, Are you? #24hourproject #24hr16 #24hr16_Melbourne #Australia to support @She_Has_Hope. For more information please visit @24hourproject.

This month I will be taking part in the @24hourproject to document humanity in Melbourne. I will be working to build a team to curate & share one photo, per hour, for 24 hours on March 19. 2016 from 00.00am to 23:59pm

The goal is to share the different aspects of the human condition as part of a global activation that is taking place in over 500 cities worldwide in order to support @she_has_hope

To all my #Melbourne community & creatives, I’m looking for your support to create something that showcases the beautiful & complex realities of Melbourne that don’t get much light & I’m calling out all my shooters from #Toronto to also shed light on the 6ix by showcasing the untold stories of the humanity that exist.

Message me for more details or visit 24project.org if you would like to take part in this global action with me #24hourproject #24hr16
