Here’s my gratitude post for the help I had on this project.

Often I put together teams to build art, but I look at Fair as an opportunity to work on solo projects. I started this sculpture imagining it was going to be just me, but something like this doesn’t happen alone. It was an amazing project because at every step, when I needed support, someone would materialize to help me.
My parents foremost. They rarely get to see my art because it’s usually overseas. This was an opportunity to both share with them, and bring them into the process. It was the greatest joy to include them. My dad built planter boxes, and my mom helped me dig up all the plants from her garden.
My friend Corianne was hugely supportive all the way through, giving me advice about plants, which I desperately needed. She also let me dig up plants from her garden, and managed to get me the lovely begonias from the flower shop in Newport. Ken was right there too giving me wise council . I subjected Leighton to a day of traumatizing manual labor when we dragged loads of driftwood off the beach.
Then when I started the install at Fair, Jeramiah helped me get the base structure in, driving stakes and ensuring it was going to stay put, Tyty showed up for me. Randy and I spent two nights playing with lights in the eyes and finally decided on silver leaf, which he went through the tedious process of applying. Nate wired my lights, Moe dutifully installed shingles on the tail, Steve helped me with cladding the body. Amber, a security guard posted nearby helped me for two days, largely making sure I didn’t cut my foot off with my chainsaw in my manic state of creative drive. Sofia made sure that I was eating and taking care of myself, and when it was apparent that I wasn’t, she took on the duty. Cedar took great care to shape the tip of the tail to a spear like tip, and then on the final day, Corianne, Ken, Brittany and Veta helped me with the final plant arrangement and the touches of care and love.
From no organization on my part a team of my friends and community surfaced, out of the woodwork (you might say) to bring Guidance to life. can’t think of a better way it could have happened!

burned for 21 days on Playa for my very first time and wouldn’t trade the insights I received and full spectrum experience for anything, still have 3 film rolls to develop, big love to my Burn parents forever n ever

lots of dancing alone and with precious friends, building cool things, reading, feeling the feels and time outdoors. wouldnt have it any other way!

From vision into reality! It wurked out!

We came up with this concept back in spring, Johnny @trilliumdomes whipped up a design in no time, we actually have a whole nother inverse design we are saving for next year!

After a few conversations and summer chalk full of events I picked up the materials and started chopping only a week before @asabovesobelowpnw
I was absolutely haggard but worked day n night to blam this thing together. Luckily I got help from baby habiki at the land project I live at and @l___i__a_m came to scorch the frame! Johnny rolled up at the crunchiest hour to rip all the bevels! I was able to finish the final details on Thursday before the event at which point I loaded the whole structure up into my van and drove it to the fairgrounds to erect it that night!

The following day @aloysius_moon_ and the @decay_olympia
Crew were able to roll up and freestyle projection map the structure on the fly!

@dietrichfarms Caitlin threw down hard on the surrounding foliage multiple truckloads of flowers!

@frequenzie.audio and @markhardyhere expertly designed the audio for the room

@cougarmakesart and cas helped put together the structure as well!

Not to mention a whole grip of help from a myriad of folks on the as above so below crew.

And this was just one small part of the festival as a whole!

The Party (?)

These 7 days unfolded endlessly in a beautiful psychedelic experience of self and community. I didn’t know that time could expand so much. Every moment was so full of love and energy and art and expression and kept continuously leading to the next and there was only always more of everything. What a special and inspiring experience to capture.

The People

I have never felt as synchronized with a group of people as I experienced here. I feel the deepest love and admiration for everyone I met and reconnected with at Boom- especially for my team. The lines between coworkers and friends and family absolutely disappeared. I have no words for the bonds that formed. I love you guys🖤
