Quoting my friend (and fellow @howard1867 grad) uberproducer (seriously, go look him up 🤯🤯) @markbatsonrocks .

His album I Want to See You Shining is total affirmations, like the WHOLE ALBUM ❤️❤️ you should go download it or stream it like today....

When I went out to exercise today, I felt the warmth and saw the brightness of the sun, I listened to Mark’s album and my iTunes playlist of Inspiring songs and I just worked to keep my mind focused and present.

It all reminded me of the people in my life for whom I am so deeply grateful. I also heard someone say (in one of my affirmation podcasts) that it is just as important to value the journey you traverse to the next good thing in your life as it is to appreciate that great thing when it shows up. So today, I’m grateful for all the people on this journey (you know who you are).

We know that friendships are important, people with quality friendships live longer, are happier and are more successful. Friendship burnout has become a real thing during the pandemic. ⠀

Here are some tips that @drjudithjoseph and I offer our patients to deal with this: ⠀

🤝 Tell people you are taking a pandemic pause from virtual meetups rather than ghosting them. You can’t pour from an empty cup.⠀
🤝 If you feel too emotionally depleted and feel guilty about not being as communicative, set reminders to reach out during important occasions like a friend’s birthday or anniversary. People feel valued when you recognize significant milestones.⠀
🤝 Sometimes we need a social media cleanse and before your hiatus, reach out to a friend to thank them for their friendship and to let them know you are taking a pause from posting because you need a break. ⠀

Friends who are likeminded tend to understand and will be there when you are ready to re-connect. 🌻⠀
