No hurdles…..no problem 😅💪🏻
The hurdle drill would be usually implemented to help with ⬆️ ROM around the hips and ⬆️ the coordination of limb movement and 👌 for teaching rhythm 🎶 & posture.
But in this case, it’s simply a ‘lateral A-Skip switch’

‘2ftStraight leg switch’
Think 💭about pulling toes up & lifting from the hip (don’t kick out at the knee, it’s not football😅) then pull the leg back down into the track underneath your hip.
Keep torso upright (think about peaking over someones fence so the momentum takes you ➡️)
🚫 common mistake is keeping your arms straight (we don’t run like that🤦🏼‍♂️) or allowing your foot to ‘passively’ hit the track, we want to have intent 💪🏻

I always make the athletes carry out there running drills in single file so I can use the warm up as opportunities to actually ‘coach’ the technique I want to see as opposed to just doing drills because it’s what we ‘should’ do to ‘get warm’
🔑 Yes it’s part of a warm up but the purpose of drills are to enhance our running mechanics not increase body temperature, that should precede
