Aesthetic Dissonance - Common Seahorse (3 of 4).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Seahorses are incredibly unique fish; they do not possess scales, but rather skin stretched over a series of plates which are arranged in rings throughout their bodies - which also means they have no ribs. They are also one of two fish (the other being their close relatives, the razor fish) that swim vertically instead of horizontally. A certain species of seahorse (Hippocampus Zosterae) also holds the Guinness World Record for slowest moving fish, at 1.5 meters per hour!

Aesthetic Dissonance - Death’s-Head Hawkmoth (4 of 4).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Aesthetic Dissonance is a conservationist series consisting of 4 paintings.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These 4 paintings feature an animal barely interacting with a disjointed golden frame in an off-rococo style. Is any one animal more deserving of a portrait than another; - more deserving of life?

📓 Moleskine MII. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The sketchbook that’s travelled the most; from Nepal to Asia, Europe and to Canada in over 5 years! Apparently the theme of this one was ‘abandonment’ because I struggled to find many finished pages in here 🥲 fingers crossed the next one doesn’t take as long? 🤞🏽

Aesthetic Dissonance - Death’s-Head Hawkmoth (4 of 4).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All three species of Death’s-Head Hawkmoth are able to chirp a sound similar to a mouse - evolving from an epipharynx that’s original use was to suck up honey.
