My sweet girl. Happy 12th birthday, MRP.

All the things they say about the firstborn daughter ring so true. Twelve seems a little unfair—in some ways, my mama heart has a hard time accepting it, and in others, the number doesn’t quite measure the maturity and grace she already carries.

She is thoughtful and conscientious, always looking out for others, with a heart rooted in gratitude. My lover of organization, sports, skincare routines, ASMR and, of course, candy.

This season with her is so beautiful. We get to cheer her on while watching her navigate a little more of life on her own. I’m holding on to shopping for glow serum together, finding the perfect outfit for her first middle school dance, and all the sport moments in between.

But more than anything, I’m grateful that at 12, she still wants her mama to tuck her in at night. I’ll hold on to that for as long as she’ll let me.

Love you to the moon, baby girl. Happy 12th, Maryrose.

Time. Sweet, slow time. 🌊☀️

A full week to press pause before a new school year begins.

Sunrises and sunsets. Daily squishy trades. Endless pool time. Sand masterpieces. Hours spent crab hunting. Fresh seafood and ice cream. Belly laughs. Barefoot adventures. Time with Granna and Pops.

The kind of vacation that reminds you the best memories aren’t found in a schedule—they’re found in simply having the time to be together.

Now it’s back to school, routines, and all the goodness a new season brings. But we’ll hold onto this week for a long time. 🤍

All 4 kiddos are off to tennis camp tomorrow. We went out to the courts to shake off some of the dust. We had to get the updated tennis picture.

Yummy steaks, sweet cards and conversation about how to not be crazy sport parents.
Our life is a mix of Bluey quotes and softball slang. One big game of Keepy Uppy. A lot of cheering from the sidelines, covering each other’s bases, and finding a way to get home.

But for real, who can floss better?

Kindergarten doesn’t seem that long ago.
I am so grateful for the traditions that mark these milestones.

There is something so special about watching your baby grow up little by little, gaining confidence, maturity, and becoming who they are meant to be.

I’m still thinking about Christmas break—time, sweet time.
The magic was everywhere, but being home together meant the most.

Christmas 🥰🎄🤟
The door was wrapped tight. The 3 big kids instructed to not break through until 7am. They slept in the same bed - 2 vertical and 1 horizontal at the foot of the bed. Hannah Beth tucked snuggly in next to dad. Morning came too quickly … Santa had just departed. There were 4 gifts. Gift #1 a manger, Gift #2 - hay, Gift #3 - Baby Jesus and Gift #4 - “The Smallest Greatest Gift.” Mom tried to explain “the real reason for Christmas.” 😬 A Christmas Lesson before gifts was probably too much to ask 😂 but maybe just maybe they will remember that manger.
Gifts were unwrapped and they each could probably share their favorites. Santa pancakes were devoured & Happy Birthday Jesus was sung.
