POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🇷🇸Ovo je “Medication”, pesma koju sviramo kao zavrsnicu seta.
Pesma stara skoro 10 godina.

🇺🇸This is “Medication,” a song we use to close our live sets.

The song is almost 10 years old.
We recorded it, scrapped it, then recorded it again and scrapped it once more.

Almost a decade later, it turned out to be one of the songs that gets the best response from audiences at our live shows — even from people who don’t usually listen to aggressive music.

So we decided to record it one last time, a decade later, and finally release it.

In early 2027, expect an EP featuring three songs that have been buried since 2017.

Some songs reach your heart before you understand a single word. @ladaniva.ladaniva “Margarita” reached our table, and we gave it a chair.

This imaginary collaboration began during a night with friends, celebrating one of us deciding to get married. Somewhere between the toasts and another chorus, we started singing our own words. By the wedding party, the song had become part of our story.

We call it “bafalaksovanje.” You don’t know the language or the lyrics, but the sounds feel familiar enough for your mother tongue to take over. You follow what you hear until a different story begins to sing itself.

“Daću njive, kuće, pare,
Kure dedino.”

I’ll give you fields, houses, money. Everything I have, my dear. It could be a grandfather singing, a father, a best man or a friend. Behind the teasing and tenderness is the same promise: you’ve chosen to build a life with someone, and we’re here to give you all we can.

Then comes the chorus.

“Sve ću po’eeeem,
Pa da mreeeeem.”

I’ll eat it all and die right after. Because, of course, love at a Serbian wedding arrives with enough food to feed another wedding. Even our appetite becomes a declaration of devotion. Another plate, another song. Nobody’s going home just yet.

Through these invented lyrics comes something deeply familiar: the generosity of our customs, the sacred meaning of marriage in Orthodox tradition, and the humour that lets us say the most heartfelt things with a grin.

There’s something in “Margarita” that already feels close to home. Its folk spirit reminds me how easily music travels between cultures, carrying feelings we recognise before we find the words.

With love and admiration for LADANIVA, Jaklin Baghdasaryan and Louis Thomas, and everyone who brought “Margarita” to life: Victor Vagh-Weinmann, Guillaume Breton, Pierre Kastler, Anna Franceschini, Zuzanna Skowron and Mathieu Bameulle.

And to our friends and the newlyweds ( @ivan_hocevar & @marushka.off ), for giving this version its heart.

An imaginary collaboration. An unofficial homage. A little Serbian love letter, sung with a full mouth and an even fuller heart.

Nek se čuje s naše strane. 🥂

Nakon višedecenijskog iskustva u muzici i niza godina posvećenih istraživanju drum & bass i jungle zvuka, beogradski producent 𝐚𝐜𝐦𝐞.𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐤 predstavlja novo izdanje, 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐌𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐄𝐏, objavljeno za 𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐈𝐓𝟏𝟕𝟒.

What an absolute honor it was getting to spend time with THE Billy Gould of @faithnomore and @yebiga_rakija !
Not to mention the fact that Billy is wearing our DotW bucket hat. I can cross that one off the bucket list.
