«Гимн Чуме» на Кинопоиске, прямая ссылка в профиле.

Почти двухлетнее фестивальное турне началось с премьеры в Локарно, где «Гимн» был удостоен приза Pardino d’Argento, продолжив путь в Сан Себастьяне и более чем на 30 фестивалях по всему миру.

Даже не склонных к мистицизму участников команды, «Гимн Чуме» научил тому, что бывают проекты, которые сами принимают решение, когда им выходить и о чем говорить.

Приятного просмотра!

Ishita Chakraborty, Between the Land and Sea (2025) & Dimitri Gorbaty, CONQUERED (2026), two-channel video 5 minutes loop.

Between the Land and Sea renders a steel crowd-control barrier in mouth-blown glass. Glass requires intense heat to shape, echoing the heated politics of borders and nationalism. The work appears inviting at a distance, but up close, its fragility turns hostile. By swapping steel for glass, Chakraborty questions how permanent these systems of control really are.

Shown alongside it, Dimitri Gorbaty’s two-channel video CONQUERED loops documentary footage of people in public space through an AI model that repeatedly predicts their next positions. The piece asks what happens when human behavior becomes something to categorize and anticipate: prediction as a tool of governance, not just observation. Each figure in the footage carries a voice; together they form a choir. As the two channels drift out of sync, the spatial audio shifts with them. The lyrics draw on the hymn « I Surrender All, » a meditation on surrender in the face of hardship.

This installation was part of BaseCamp a Locarno film festival initiative.

Five artists and filmmakers from BaseCamp Locarno78 participated in a residency programme at Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, known as BaseCamp Altrove. During this programme, the artists engaged in a city-based exploration, producing works that encompassed a variety of artistic disciplines. The participants were invited to attend workshops, to explore the base camp library, and to engage with a new city while establishing new collaborations both among themselves and with other emerging talents from the region.
From this experience BaseCamp will present three short films and a video installation.

The selected projects for the fifth edition of the #LocarnoResidency are here: twelve promising works from around the world, reflecting the diversity and ambition of the next generation of filmmakers.

During #Locarno79, a jury of industry experts – Vincenzo Bugno, Anna Ciennik and Wouter Jansen – will select three of these projects to join the Residency’s year-long development programme. Through writing, mentorship and creative exchange, the selected filmmakers will be supported in developing their first feature films.

In partnership with @luma_arles, the Locarno Residency continues to nurture emerging voices in cinema through a unique development journey across Switzerland, France and Italy.
