Haven’t had a chance to post about the show all weekend on account of vacation scammin with Tio D, but after seeing some of the photos rolling in and hearing the early mix of the live video (coming soon!), I figured I ought to pipe up and spread some gratitude around.

Gentleman Deluxe is the most ambitious and complex project I have ever tried to take on. The solo shows, duets, quartets and full ensemble each carry their own set of unique challenges and in all cases, they are made possible thanks to to the generosity and help of others. Pretty ironic considering I started this project so I could keep myself musically engaged without depending on anyone else.

To Rachel, Andy, Dusty, Chris, Katie, Isabella, Tay, JP, Cole, Mike, Troy, Jon, Andreas and Dave: Thank you so much for your hard work, professionalism and passion on Friday night. I am so very grateful for you all. You and I been making magic and we’re just getting started.

To Sam Pace: Thank you so much for opening up the show. Everyone agreed you were the most pleasant of surprises.

To my good brother Damien: thank you for 2+ decades of friendship, music and of course, the sick ass bike. I am so grateful to have you in my life.

To the staff at Ophelia’s: THANK YOU for your friendliness, professionalism and patience. You run one of the most beautiful rooms in Denver and we were honored to grace your stage. Special shoutout to Alec for managing to mix a 15 piece band like an absolute pro. You’re hired.

To my video genius, Rob Boehm: Thank you for continuing to show up, bust your ass and make my shows look and sound way cooler after the fact. Where have you been all my life?!

Finally, to everyone who made it out: thank you for spending the evening with us, offering up your praise and attention and especially for braving downtown on a hot August night. We appreciate you.

Stay tuned for more shows, more music and more moves. Year one (two?) of Gentleman Deluxe has exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to see what else is in store.

Packed house for rehearsal last night!

That was some real-deal, old fashioned family band s**t right there!

Wall-to-wall musicians with my boy drawing pictures of monsters with bleeding eyes in the middle of it all. We were a few bodies short of the full lineup, but truth be told, had everybody been there, we'd've had to put the horns in the hallway!

I cannot even begin to express how good this band sounds and what an amazing feeling it is to jam with all these wonderful people. It is truly a dream come true. Do not miss this show. With a lineup of almost 20 people, it's not easy to pull this off and there's no telling when we'll try it again.

Fire on the Mountain Buffalo Wings and Ophelia's Electric Soapbox Present:

the Summer's End Social!!!!

Summer's End around the bend, just flyin....

The sunburn's are peelin', the skinned knees are healin' and you got that end-of-summer feelin'

Come close out Summer in style with the countryfied-soul sounds of Gentleman Deluxe and Friends! This 17-member ensemble features an absolutely staggering lineup of local talent including former and current members of Playground Ensemble, The Samples, Reptiles and Samurai, Tivoli Club Brass Band, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats, MF Ruckus, The High Desert Band, Dragondeer and too many more to name!

Speaking of "staggering", supporting this massive menagrie of musical mastery will be one of the midwest's greatest treasures, Damien Christian of Chicago's own The Blind Staggers.

And as if that wasn't enough, we have a special appearance by the incredible Sam Pace whose classic blues guitar style and mournful, baritone crooning will have you crying in your whiskey til the one who left finally comes home (she won't, btw. Sorry pal).

It's all going down Friday August 28th at Ophelia's Electric Soapbox here in Denver.

DM for down-low discounted presales!!!
