July is Chronic Disease Awareness Month.

Like many others who share their own experiences, chronic illness impacts me in ways that a lot of people would never understand. While my life, because of my illness, has at times been stripped to modes of survival, I have also overcome intense pain and trauma. This adversity in the face of suffering has transformed my life into something I’m incredibly proud of.

To all those living with chronic illness, your life has so much meaning beyond a mere diagnosis; it is an incredible opportunity to connect with others, and explore what it means to be human.
