My oh my, how things have changed. Kelly and I are on the road taking Dawson back to VMI, and this time, he’s the one behind the wheel while I’m riding shotgun reviewing deals, contracts, and getting some work done. I couldn’t help but sit here for a minute and think about how proud we are of this young man. VMI is not easy. It’s demanding, and it requires a level of discipline and determination that most people will never experience. It will test you. It will push you. And if you let it, it will break you. But Dawson continues to battle his way through it, one day at a time, and watching him grow stronger through the process has made us incredibly proud. To everyone who has encouraged him, supported him, prayed for him, and stayed in his corner — thank you. It means more to Kelly and me than you know. Dawson, I know your Grandpa is smiling down from Heaven and is incredibly proud of the young man you’re becoming. Keep pushing. Keep battling. Keep making us proud. We love you, son.

Two days ago, I made a post about my mom and talked about how sometimes we have to slow down. This morning, I was reminded just how hard that can be. We had a family trip planned to spend half the day at the beach. All of us together. At this point in our lives, those days don’t happen nearly as often as they used to. Our kids have their own lives, and when we get the opportunity to all be together, it means something. But this morning, I made the difficult decision not to go. I went to work. Kelly is disappointed. I’m sure my kids are disappointed. And truthfully, I am too. Right now, we have a lot happening with our family business. We’re expanding our current operations in Whiteville, buying a development in Whiteville, selling a property in California, and pursuing several other opportunities that could impact our family’s future. Some of those opportunities have deadlines and decisions that simply can’t wait. This is the part people don’t always see. They see the growth, the opportunities and hopefully, eventually, the success. They don’t see the sacrifices and difficult decisions behind it. I meant what I said two days ago. We do need to slow down. But there’s also a balance between enjoying what you’ve worked for and recognizing when the right opportunity requires sacrifice. You can’t chase every opportunity. But you also can’t miss the right ones. As the leader of my family, sometimes I have to make decisions that disappoint the people I love. I won’t always get them right, but I have to make the decision I believe is best for our family and live with the consequences. Today, that meant missing a few hours at the beach with the people I love most. Building something for your family and being present with your family are both important. The hard part is that sometimes they compete for the same hours. Those are the decisions nobody sees.

A few days in Las Vegas at the 2026 Global Business Conference reminded me how grateful I am for this journey. When I was looking to buy my first dealership, I had opportunities to acquire Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Ford, Volkswagen, and Nissan stores. All great brands with great people behind them. But sometimes things work out exactly the way they’re supposed to. I’m incredibly thankful that the opportunity that came together was Simons Chevrolet GMC in Whiteville, North Carolina. This week was special for many reasons. I had the chance to reconnect with some old friends and make many new ones from across the country. The relationships in this industry are truly something special. We also got a deeper look at Chevrolet and GMC’s current lineup and what’s coming next, and I can say with confidence that the future for these brands is incredibly bright. The innovation, technology, and product pipeline coming from GM is simply unbelievable. Meanwhile back home, something else happened that made me really proud. Our team had a strong week of sales, service, and parts, even while I was gone. That’s a true testament to the people, culture, and leadership we are building at Simons Chevrolet GMC. A few of the team members even joked that maybe I should stay in Vegas a few more days… 😂 In all seriousness, I couldn’t be more proud of our team. They continue to step up, support each other, and serve our customers the right way. We continue to grow month over month, and we’re getting better every single day. I’m thankful for where we are today…but incredibly excited about where we’re going. My focus moving forward remains simple: Build a great culture. Serve our community well. Continue growing with Chevrolet and GMC. The future is bright — and we’re just getting started. @simonschevroletgmc @gmc @chevrolet

Fourteen hours. Nine cars sold and delivered in a single day. This picture was taken at the end of it all - long after the lights should’ve been off… long after most people would have called it quits. But this just wasn’t another day. It was our best day yet. Not long ago, this store was averaging 24 cars a month. Yesterday, we delivered nine in one day. And I stood there-exhausted, grateful, smiling-I couldn’t help but to think about a young boy in McDowell County, West Virginia. A kid who used to cruise car lots just to look. Walking between rows of cars. Dreaming. I remember telling anyone that would listen at a very young age: “One day I’m going to be a car dealer.” I didn’t know how. I didn’t know when. But I believed it. There were seasons of doubt. Seasons of pain. Seasons of betrayal. Seasons of risk. Seasons of sacrifice. But there was also Faith. Faith from my parents, George and Wanda who showed me what hard work really looks like. Support from my brother George-someone I admire and look up to. Love and belief from my in-laws, Pip and Fran Alba, who have treated me like their own. Mentors and friends across the industry who believed in me long before it was obvious. And above all-my wife, Kelly. Kelly has stood beside me through every long day, every leap of faith every late night-strategy session. She has sacrifice more than anyone will ever know. Morgan and Dawson-you are my why. Everything I build is to show you what it’s possible when belief meets work ethic. To my team-thank you. You believe in the vision. You trust me. You show up. You execute. Nine deliveries in one day doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of culture accountability in people that care. We are building something special. But hear me clearly-we are only at the starting line. This is just the foundation. There will be more dealerships. There will be more opportunities. There will be growth for everyone helping me build this organization. we will continue to outwork the doubt, outlast the obstacles, and outserve expectations-until the vision becomes reality. The best is still ahead. WE COMING

This morning, Scott and I came across this sweet girl running across the corridor 🐶 We couldn’t just drive by… so we stopped and picked her up. She’s getting some food, a much-needed bath, and lots of love while we work to find her owner 🫶🏻 If you recognize her—or if you just want to stop by and say hello—come see us today at Simons Chevrolet GMC. Sometimes doing the right thing is the easiest decision of the day.
