Sometimes I get asked how I got into cocktail photography when I’m most associated with portraiture and events. It all goes back to a Chicago Magazine contest that my dear friend, Keri, and I entered during quarantine, which much our surprise… we won! I guess it encouraged us to keep going, and in the past four years, we’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the most talented tiki mug artists, won more contests, have had our work posted to the social media accounts of multiple national brands, and have traveled in pursuit of our little hobby. If you want to see more of what we’ve created, please check out the “Clink” highlight above! #tikimug #tikitiki #tikibar #cocktailgram #cocktails #cocktailphotography #instabooze #mariettaphotographer #roswellphotographer #alpharettaphotographer #jessicakalinaphotography

It’s the countdown to Labor Day, and we’ve got you covered all week long w/ the perfect cocktails for your bbq! Our Watermelon Daiquiri is easy and soooo yum. We’ve provided you with a recipe for one as well as a large batch recipe that serves 20. Cheers!

Watermelon Daiquiri for One

1.5 oz. rum (we love @appletonestateusa)
3/4 limoncello (@iltramontoliqueurs)
1 oz. lime
1.5 oz. fresh watermelon
1/2 oz. simple syrup

Watermelon Daiquiri Punch (serves 2 cocktails to 20 guests)

4 C. light blended rum (we love Appleton Estate Signature; this will require slightly more than 1- 750 ml bottle- you can either go light on the rum and use one bottle, or just have a nice bottle leftover for use)
1 3/4 C limoncello
2 1/2 C. fresh lime juice
3 3/4 C. watermelon
1 1/4 C. simple syrup (whisk 1 C. water and 1 1/2 C. sugar in saucepan over low heat until just dissolved)

Method:

Purée seedless watermelon, then triple strain to remove pulp. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker (or in a pitcher if making large batch, then into cocktail shaker when ready to serve) with a scoop of ice. Strain into a coupe, garnish with a small slice of watermelon. #bbq #summerparty #laborday #labordayweekend #cocktails #cocktailparty #watermelon #watermeloncocktail #limoncello #daiquiri #cocktailgram #instacocktails #instabooze #appletonestate
