POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When Andre Gonzalez founded Burning Bush Barber Academy, he wanted to build a space where students could grow professionally and spiritually—incorporating God’s Word and biblical values into the barbershop and the real world. No two journeys look identical, and that’s okay. We’re here to support every student as they master the trade and learn how to truly serve their communities.

We are officially open! Tap the link in our bio to watch the full “Our Story” video on our website burningbushbarberacademy.org.

Applications to become a student or a teacher are open now. Visit burningbushbarberacademy.org today.

Last evening our home was filled with family, friends, and colleagues as we welcomed @governorshapiro 🇺🇸

Throughout the evening Governor Shapiro spoke about building: building roads, schools, opportunities, and stronger communities. As we looked around the crowd, it felt like we were witnessing another kind of building as well: new connections being made, old friendships renewed, and people from different walks of life coming together in conversation.

We were especially grateful that our children could be part of the event before heading off to a swim meet. It’s not every day that the Governor stops by your house on a Tuesday evening!

We appreciated Governor Shapiro’s warmth, his curiosity, and genuine interest in the people he met throughout the evening. And yes, his swag was on 💯😎

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We left the evening reminded that some of the most important things we build aren’t tangible, they’re relationships rooted in trust, community, and shared purpose!

Serving with purpose. ✂️❤️

Last week ,The Burning Bush Barber Academy had the honor of going into local retirement homes to give back in a real way through service, skill, and love.

Our barber instructors worked side by side with newly licensed barbers and current students in our program, creating an environment of hands-on learning while serving those who paved the way before us. This is what we’re about — equipping hands to serve hearts.

We were also blessed to have @evangelife0611 join us, sharing a powerful devotional and prayer with the residents, bringing encouragement and hope into the room. Also Pastor Tyrik Clark from @well_lancaster came out and poured into the community as well.#

Moments like this remind us: this is bigger than haircuts this is ministry, mentorship, and impact.

🙏 If you believe in what we’re building, we’re still actively seeking support and funding to acquire our own building — a permanent space where we can continue training, mentoring, and serving at a greater level.
Also want to take @kurt_edmond82 for setting it all for us and @billymaeda for recording the whole event ! This could work with out everyone !
Partner with us. Sow into impact. Build with us. Link in the bio

Meet the Founders of The Burning Bush Barber Academy❤️‍🔥📚✂️

Andre Gonzalez – Founder & Executive Director
Andre founded Burning Bush Barber Academy with a vision to create more than barbers — but leaders, mentors, and men of integrity. With a heart for faith, community, and second chances, he is committed to equipping students with hands-on barbering skills, spiritual foundation, and the confidence to build sustainable, purpose-driven careers.

Lissette Carrillo – Co-Founder & Director of Operations
Lissette plays a vital leadership role in bringing the vision to life. As Director of Operations, she oversees the structure, organization, and day-to-day coordination that keeps the academy moving forward. Her compassion, strategic mindset, and deep commitment to community ensure that every student is supported both professionally and personally.

Our Mission - Burning Bush Barber Academy exists to build skills, build faith, and build futures. Through barber training, mentorship, and character development, we are creating pathways to financial stability and generational impact.

Why We Need Your Support - We are working to secure our official permanent building — a dedicated space where students can train, gather, and grow. Having a permanent home will allow us to expand programming, serve more students, and deepen our impact in the community.

How You Can Help - Donate today through the Donorbox link in our bio or on our website. Every contribution moves us closer to opening the doors of our permanent space.

Together, we’re building more than a barbershop — we’re building futures.

Thank you 🙏🏼

Former apprentice of Andre Gonzalez (2017), Walberto Ramos shares his testimony

Grateful for your mentorship and the impact you’ve had on my life. You helped shape my barbering skills, strengthened my faith, and gave advice that still guides me today. I’m truly thankful for you.

Although I no longer pursue barbering as a full-time career, the lessons I learned from Dre—both in the shop and in life—have stayed with me. The discipline, work ethic, and mindset he instilled helped me transition into my new venture in HVAC/R,where I continue to apply those same principles every day.

We are currently seeking donations to help fund a building so we can continue creating opportunities, mentorship, and life-changing programs like this. All donations are tax-exempt and deeply appreciated. http://donorbox.org/raising-money-for-building-for-school

In a 2016, Andre Gonzalez opened The Vintage Clipper in Lancaster with a passion for barbering and a heart for people.

Over the years, it became more than a shop — it became a place of growth, mentorship, and community.

That chapter has now closed.
But the calling has only grown stronger.

We are proud to introduce Burning Bush Barber Academy — a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to training the next generation of barbers with skill, discipline, character, and purpose.

This is something new.
A new mission.
A new space (location coming soon).
The same heart for Lancaster.

If you’ve supported the journey before, we invite you to continue walking with us as we build something that will impact lives beyond the chair.

Follow along. Share the vision. Apply today or Donate to the cause. Help us serve our city. 🔥✂️
