IDEO’s mural in Central Square, Cambridge is getting a refresh, and we’re documenting the process from the ground and the air.

The original mural was created by @eltonolab back in 2017, and he’s now working alongside @daevmomo as they repaint the building.

For this coverage day, I started with the DJI Mini 5 Pro to capture them working high above the street, then switched over to the Nikon ZR with the 70–200mm for the close-up details as the lift came down. Plus… @giseliris was behind the camera documenting everything in between, right up until the rain started coming in.

Really dope being able to capture this project as it progresses.

Big thanks to @christina_abele_ and the @ideo team for bringing us in. Looking forward to documenting the rest of this amazing refresh!

I thought this was fabric … until I saw the WINDOWS!!?? Insane work (the inky watercolor splashes?!) by @daevmomo …

“Wall painting for the Albright-Knox Gallery Museum public art program in Buffalo NY. (268 Main Street). Angelo called this Momo Maxxing. I think this is the most support and time and materials I’ve ever been able to put into a painting. They have a super skilled pro team working with the program - I was learning things about painting walls. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity and all the extra effort from everyone.”

For the past two years, 𝘔𝘖𝘔𝘖: 𝘔𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳 & 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 has been more than a mural—it has been a backdrop for countless memories.
From museum openings and community gatherings to wedding portraits and family photos, this vibrant work became part of so many meaningful moments shared at SLOMA.
While we’re sad to say goodbye, we’re grateful for everything this mural has been a part of and for the memories it helped create. As SLOMA continues to grow and evolve, we look forward to welcoming new works, new experiences, and many more moments with our community.
Thank you, MOMO, for being part of our story. ❤️

Special thanks to our generous supporters: @cityofslo, Candee & Bert Forbes, Shirley & Mike Ritter, Linda & Wayne Lewis, Harold J Miossi Charitable Trust, and additional support from Sherwin Williams sherwin-williams, Novo Restaurant & Lounge @novorestaurant, and Premier Valley Bank @premiervalleybank.
