Back to Derby… we showed up and there was a sofa in bowl/dish so instead of removing it, Tanner Zelinsky @t.bird.z decided to skate it, and @dafnoah documented the moment which may or may not have been in one of his @dafmade videos which are a must see if you can find them! I finally got a film scanner to start seriously working on my skate/music photography book. Vol. 1 ideally would be released next year or perhaps sooner… and I just came across a silver mine of unseen b-roll photos I never printed or scanned before and 24 years later they are screaming out to me to be unveiled, in the process of weeding out, even with all their imperfections. So here is just the the tip of the iceberg… Vagabond pool. 2002. A heated session we showed up to from amidst own separate central valley skate tour and then Lance Mountain appeared like in a surreal dream along with some Team Pain dudes from Florida as well as a bunch of known and unknown lurkers. First shot: Full on butt shot of Adam Morgan carving the new DIY with total chaos in frame with the rebar, pool, lurkers lurking and skaters waiting their go, including Lance Mountain on the steps, Concussion Davoud and pre-Creature Lee on the bench. Gotta zoom in to see the details or wait for the book… although, these photos won’t be in it. Second shot: Tanner Zelinsky. Backside tailslide with DAF Noah on deck filming for DAF’s “In the Lurk” video Third shot: Detail of the DIY corner on the platform Fourth shot: Lance Mountain. Side wall frontside grind Fifth shot: My leg, camera bag, fisheye pouch and overview. Test shot after loading the film More later, scanned 40 photos from two rolls. Total imperfection but the captures seemed to have aged like fine wine in time, perhaps… after traveling in plastic boxes from Santa Cruz, to Germany, to Spain. Somehow unscathed, neither lost nor damaged in transport nor through the looking glass. Photos: J. With a heavy heart i say farewell to @creaturefiends. After spending half my life riding for @creaturefiends ,15 years road miles and adventures around this earth im leaving with the upmost gratitude for the family and bond formed while riding for this brand. My hero’s became my friends and the dream of a 8 year old child who watched born dead on repeat became true. With that it’s hard not to get emotional about moving on with something that’s so synonymous with my career. I just want to thank the original generals @navs5000 @parts @larbvomit @lostincranslation for having a huge impact on my path to success, as well as @dafnoah @regularolelee @saggerdaniels On a note all my boards currently and proceeding 2026 are my last decks I’ll have with @creaturefiends so get them while they are around. SEVER ☨ Now Playing driving thru the neighborhood i grew up in, i noticed the old market had got hit up sometime between my errand and that moment, i thought: “that place looks sketchy, that’s where Bonehead would live.” what started as a silly idea, turned into a makeshift dwelling in the side yard of my house. no doubt it wouldn’t have even been erected without the best damn people in my life self-doubt was lurking around every corner, but the urge to make something special like the skate videos that shaped me as a kid, and to challenge myself, outweighed every worry. of course, it didn’t turn out exactly how I pictured it, but I’ve always stood by the idea of “daring to suck.” who cares? just make the thing, put it out, and learn from it. go make cool shit with your friends. dare to suck •Link In Bio• @creaturefiends @kevinbaekkel @returnofdajuice
