Sub-title “The dahlia seedling that broke me”

Warm apricot notes with a buttermilk collar that’s tipped in baby pink… can you guess it’s heritage?

Story- Christmas ‘23 and myself and a dahlia grower swap some collected seeds. Many beautiful blooms were born, many in colours that were let’s say challenging.
I’d already realised that yellow and orange needed to be banished as the goal was dark waterlily and jewel coloured ball /mini dec varieties.

This dahlia is just toooooooo divine to let go, it’s perfect, so it grows in the furthest corner of the Lottie away from all the others…
Cruel? Perhaps if it cared, but there it gets the spot light all on its own.

This dahlia is one of “the Originals” and feel very privileged to be growing it. This is its third year and it just gets better and better.
My seedling but not my seed, so this winter I’ll be dividing it and sending a tuber back to the person who gifted me the seeds all those years ago.

🌱 The name of this Collarette sums it up so perfectly...BY So Obsessed!!

I am literally obsessed with this flower. The colouring, the form & the way it has so many facets of colour throughout the season. It is just so gorgeous & such a prolific bloomer!!

I have managed to harvest some seeds & I am so excited to see what the seedlings will look like next year!

It always amazes me how freaking BIG the KA's Cloud bud is. I left both of mine in the ground this past year and so happy they came back!!! Also a new KA for me "Aloha" first bloom and then a great collarette seedling from @dahlia.nut seeds that pumps out loads of blooms. Small but mighty. And last but never least, one of my faves Romance/Hermitage.

My first seedling from @dahlia.nut seeds this season. It's tiny but the color is wonderful!!! So excited to see the others from @dahlia.nut and @collerettedahlias seeds this season. I even have a few from @rather_rooted that are almost ready to bloom too! So exciting.
