Just dropping in with a quick update: the semester’s going pretty well! 🪂

Our University Scholars have had the #BEST time getting involved in everything on campus and #BEYOND! From campus experiences to opportunities that take them higher, with USO, the sky is the limit! ☁️🧡

Last week I had the honor to officiate Josh and Alaina Cunninghams wedding in Muscatine, Iowa. With it being a long drive, we decided to make a trip out of it. And I’m so glad we did!

Life is busy, and sometimes it feels like we’re being pulled in every direction. But, for this week, every meal was shared at the same table. We ate a lot of bbq, AC drank a lot of root beer, and George discovered a new found love for ribs! We had fun at the table together!

In Nashville, we got to eat smash burgers and ice cream with cousins, and I got to try actual good bourbon!

In St. Louis, we got to go to the city museum and watch a cardinals game! The cards won on a diving catch, which was sick!

In Muscatine, we explored, danced, and celebrated with our people!

On our way home, we stopped by and saw @russellferson in Tuscaloosa. I got to see his shop @greasyhandstuscaloosa It’s dope!

This was an unorthodox vacation, one we probably would have never planned on our own. But it was perfect, and I’m thankful for it!

Going to school 5 hours away from home was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but these people and the scholars program made everything worth it. I’m so lucky to have developed these lifelong friendships, and I’ll miss everyone dearly ❤️
