29 was a big year of growth and change for me. Some of what hallmarked this year was grief. Grief from multiple angles. I’m really thankful for my friends and my new therapist for carrying me through this period of time. I couldn’t have done it without the rides to the mountain, the puzzle nights and the encouragement to be my best/weirdest self.

One thing that I struggled with throughout my 20s was feeling like I had sense of intuition. Crossing this milestone I move knowing that I trust myself.

I’ve always struggled with birthdays because I have hard time being seen without accomplishing something or having purpose. But I’m working on it 😂

Here are some of my favorite memories:

1. Hitting Blue Steel for the first time
2. Night skiing in Japan with @taylormboyd @vasu_sojitra @dakotacheek5
3. Walking around Shibuya with @vasu_sojitra and being his personal schlepper.
4. Doing donuts on sleds with @lizskihoward on the deepest day.
5. Creating @caminogueiraa artwork for her rampage bike and seeing the women compete.
6. Following @mountainmind around the ski area and getting sprayed every 10ft.
7. My sock collab with @smartwool
8. Going on trips with Bella
9. Thrifting in Copenhagen with the crew. This day felt like such a movie.
10. Learning how to dirt jump and being part of our amazing women’s bike community.
11. Skiing with everyone in @blacktotheoutdoors
12. Watching my garden grow and seeing reciprocity unfold in real time.

I recently saw a reel on this weird little app that really stuck with me, which is saying a lot considering the demon that is doom scrolling. The challenge: every day is the best day ever and it’s your job to figure out why. This is not an attempt to always find a silver lining or be toxically positive about very real life things, but instead to find the beauty in the magical, meaningless, meaning(FULL), and mundane moments.

By no means do I have everything figured out, but this daily gratitude “game” has been really significant for me. No shit Sherlock, life sometimes sucks. Sometimes I’m broke, sometimes I’m breaking out (adult acne am I right? 🥵), and other times I’m completely breaking down (car included 🤣) over life’s challenges, but damnit if I’m not **f$%king** grateful to be here and have you here with me.

This is just a little reminder that life is really really short. Tell your people you love them (I LOVE YOU!), hug your homies, show up for yourself, and *try* to enjoy all the weird, silly, fun, beautiful, loving, memorable, awkward, humbling, and unique moments that make this existence worthwhile.

To quote my favorite song ever:

“All these psychics and these doctors

It’s not some message written in the dark
Or some truth that no one’s seen
It’s a little bit of everything.”
