I attended my first cotillion tonight…. The 42nd Annual Fashionetta Scholarship Cotillion sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (Gamma Omega Chapter) it was more than a glamorous evening, it was a celebration of excellence, scholarship, family, service, and culture. 🩷💚

There is something deeply beautiful about watching young Black women walk in grace, confidence, intelligence, and tradition.

Too often, traditions like cotillions are unfairly labeled “elitist” or “outdated” instead of being recognized for what they truly are: intentional spaces created to uplift, mentor, and invest in our youth.

Black culture deserves traditions that celebrate achievement, dignity, education, and unity. We should cherish them, protect them, and continue passing them down for generations to come.

I can’t WAIT for Harper to participate in this cotillion!✨

All I can say is… it was special.

Two childhood besties, hundreds of miles apart, linking up in Louisville to watch our teen daughters compete on one of the biggest stages in girls basketball — Run 4 Roses. That alone was priceless.

But then my 94-year-old grandmother pulled up to watch her great-granddaughter in action?

Unforgettable.

I haven’t shown up in all the ways I planned to this summer… but I’ve shown up in all the ways that matter.

And honestly, that’s more than enough for me.

Thank you @georgiaqueenelite for taking us on this journey the last 3 years! We are forever grateful for your guidance and commitment to our girls ❤️

Great 1st weekend in Indy! Black finished 2-2 and Gold went 1-3. Both teams got better this weekend! A few adjustments to get us better this week in practice to prepare for Fort Wayne! Special thanks to my Pops for coming down, watching me coach and speaking to the squads! Big ups to my uncle Jeermal Sylvester for coaching with me and speaking to the teams! Congrats to Coach Carter for getting his first win as a coach! Congrats to all the players who picked up offers and interest! That’s what it’s all about! More coming this weekend! Great family time too seeing my cousins Rose & Sy, Momma Parker and the Moco Fam!!! #ZoskiElite #Zoski #CoachZo #CoachCarter #AAU #Family

I am habitually late when it comes to posting. I never want to stop what I’m doing in order to post. I just enjoy being present in the moment.

Let me tell you; this summer has given ALL the moments to be present in!

After two summers of postponing our summertime tradition due to 👶🏽+👶🏽+🦠 I was finally able to have my Goddaughter back to visit Atl for some summertime fun 🤩

Kamp Keisha (also known as my house) was extra fun this year because the attendees had real live babies to play with, for no extra charge! 🤣🙃

So who can tell me how many girls I had at my house?

Happy International Women’s Day.

May you continue to strive, grow, inspire, and challenge those barriers that US women need to break in order for the world to see our strengths for what they really are. May we continue to succeed in our work place, daily lives, life chapters, adventures and conquer the world and progress in our present and future goals.

I am a BLACK WOMAN...... I build..... I don’t tear down BLACK WOMEN! I have felt the pain of being torn down and I have decided I will be deliberate about building others. If I didn’t tag you please don’t be offended. I tried to pick people I thought would do this challenge. All too often, we women in it easier to criticize each other, instead of building each other up. With all the negativity going around let’s do something positive!!!!🌟 upload one picture of yourself, ONLY you. Then tag as many sisters to do the same. Let’s build ourselves up, instead of tearing ourselves down.
