(Diary insert 16/8/23)
33…
Me and milly were out to dinner the other night and the conversations were rolling…
one of those moments where the connection was natural and warm, words were strong, both talking about people we love and moments we’ve cherished, both shedding tears and laughing,
(milly absolutely balling her eyes out 🤣)
she said “I just hope they know how much I love them, because I love hard”…
Milly’s always had this magic way of enjoying the moment and being authentically present,
and she does love deeply.
Both huge reason I fell in love with her.
She’ll be 33 in a few days. Which is wild.
Sometimes I can get so driven into what it is that I’m doing it can pull me away…
she can bring me back, I love that very much about her…
I love my work, and I get into what ever it is that I’m doing.
If it’s weeding the garden, creating art or writing in this diary.
Mills would maybe say I get too into it all…
I hope that’s a reason to love me I guess.
But this is the human experience, and I’m all in on this too.
We’ve found our life is rich with beautiful people that over fill our cups with colours so beautiful it’s hard to describe…
Our talk touched on realising this life is beautifully wild with no warnings.
And the more we crack ourselves open to it, the more we see purpose and deep understanding and how momentary everything is…
How we feel from the highest peaks to the lowest valleys within seconds,
how we are all so similar but we often refuse to think or feel that.
How true connection with loved ones, laughter, eating, silence and time with each other is almost the richest you will ever feel in your life… simple shit… Money’s beautiful, but I doubt it can buy the wealth we feel from real connection.
And if this is to be the case I am a wealthy man.
Blessed to have beautiful people in our lives.
We definitely need complexities to have simplicity’s, all the yins and yangs are as necessary as each other.

So here’s to more sounds and colours, here’s to more moments, here’s to more of less… here’s to unanswered questions and the endless curiosity, here’s to the light and the dark…
Here’s to loving deeply.

Still frothing from the trip to the Chathams earlier in the month. We had our first mission to Pitt, some fucking awesome hunting, diving, scenery, along with a shit load of chops and a few dusty mornings sprinkled in there too. Massive shout out to the island whanau for looking after us, legends ❤️📸 - @ssspearo | @huntersclubnz #chathams #pitt

The bailers decided to hold this before the holder got there. Not a scratch on the dogs. Was caught 15mins before the 196lb blue pig in an earlier post.

Home... 🏡
every time it’s harder to leave...
The salt in your wind the air that we breathe...
when my feet mind your shores,
The clutter falls...and I can see again...
My intentions are crystal,
and I can be again... it’s a matter of time... Forever yours forever mine.

Back to the rat race whanau... thankyou everyone for everything. Love you all and will be home again soon ❤️ #home #chathamislands #newzealand #roots #whanau
