Sinoć smo u predivnom prostoru Edukativno-prezentacijskog centra za podvodnu arheologiju pogledali dva kratka filma zadarskog autora Igora Goića i dokumentarni film “Ocean with David Attenborough”. 🌊

Do iduće... 🍿😊

🚨 NOVI DATUM RADI LOŠEG VREMENA: 25.9. 🚨

„If we save the sea, we save our world.“ 🌊 U petak, 18. rujna, u suradnji s Međunarodnim centrom za podvodnu arheologiju u Zadru @icua.hr i Zakladom za okoliš dalmatinskih otoka (DIEF) @dalmatian_environment, prikazujemo “Ocean with David Attenborough”, dokumentarni film National Geographica @natgeohr s legendarnim prirodoslovcem i jednom od najprepoznatljivijih osoba u svijetu zaštite prirode.

🎬 “Ocean with David Attenborough”
📅 Petak, 25.9., 20:00
📍 Edukativno-prezentacijski centar za podvodnu arheologiju, bivša crkva sv. Nikole

🌿 Built by Hand. Preserved by Hand.

The historic paths of Hvar were not created overnight. They were shaped through hard work, skill and perseverance by generations who lived and worked on this island.

Stone by stone, wall by wall and path by path, they created the routes that connected communities, fields and everyday life.

Today, preserving these historic pathways still relies on many of the same techniques and the same dedication. Behind every restored section lies physical labour, craftsmanship and a deep respect for the landscape and the people who shaped it.

As we continue restoring historic paths across the island, we honour both the heritage they represent and the hands that built them - and the hands that continue to preserve them for future generations.

This project is the result of a collaboration between the @dalmatian_environment , the Municipality of Jelsa, and the @visitjelsa with financial support from @conservationcollectiveorg through its partnership with @inntravel . 💚

Last May, Mallorca Preservation took part in the Conservation Collective Global Gathering, held in the Scottish Highlands.🌟

Our Communications Manager, @nebiyat_photos , represented the foundation alongside more than 20 organisations from across the network.

During the gathering, we joined the panel on native species recovery, where we presented Petits Taurons-Acció Stellaris, a conservation project focused on the nursehound shark (Scyliorhinus stellaris).

We also had the opportunity to take part in workshops on fundraising, communications, leadership and team building, as well as learn about inspiring projects supported by Highlands & Islands Environment Foundation, including initiatives led by @asrainforest and @caolas_ig 🤝

We return to Mallorca with new ideas, strengthened connections and plenty of inspiration to continue driving conservation projects forward.

Thanks to @conservationcollectiveorg and @highlands_islands_environment for the excellent organisation and warm welcome.

♻️ From food waste to greener public spaces

As part of the project for the revival and enhancement of Jelsa's historic paths, an electric composter was awarded to Jelkom Public Utility Company, and is currently operated at their camp facility.

The composter transforms organic waste into high-quality compost, creating a sustainable local cycle of resource use. The produced compost is then used for the maintenance of Jelsa's public green areas, contributing to a cleaner environment and healthier urban greenery.

This initiative demonstrates how project investments can create long-term environmental benefits while supporting the sustainable management of local resources.

This project is the result of a collaboration between the @dalmatian_environment , the Municipality of Jelsa and @visitjelsa , with financial support from @conservationcollectiveorg through its partnership with @inntravel 💚

They make us feel free.
They make us feel calm.
They welcome us when we’re not feeling our best or when we’re injured.
They welcome us exactly as we are.
They allow us to live unique experiences.

🌿☀️ Revival of the Historic Path: Zavala – Pitve

We are proud to present the successful restoration of the historic path connecting Zavala and Pitve.

Once an important local route, this trail forms part of Hvar Island's cultural landscape and reflects the connection between people, nature and tradition. Passing through dry-stone walls, vineyards, olive groves and Mediterranean vegetation, it offers visitors a unique experience of the island's authentic character.

The project included clearing and restoring sections of the historic route, improving accessibility and preserving valuable elements of the area's cultural and natural heritage.

Today, the restored trail provides new opportunities for walking, recreation and enjoying nature, while encouraging visitors to discover the rich heritage and landscapes of Hvar Island.

🌿 Preserving heritage.
🥾 Encouraging outdoor recreation.
☀️ Creating new experiences along historic paths.
