I normally don’t split up days when recapping a festival but since this year I only decided to document one festival. I was back at @omanafestival in Kalamitsi and had the pleasure of sharing the photo work alongside @ginnypa who crushed it, go check out her work!

Thank you @robin_rb___ for having me back out to do my thing ❤️

This carousel is from the first couple days. Going to post over the next few days some recap shots. Enjoy ❤️

A sidebar txt: Since the year is nearing its close, be sure to check in with your family and friends and extended family. Mental health is an ongoing journey and all it takes is a hello to change someone’s day. Keep that in mind ❤️🫂

Omana is sleeping on the beach the day after the closure.
Omana is losing your shoes in the bee circus.
Omana is the dust in the forest and the sunrise on the beach.
Omana is passionate, like minded, conscious and respectful people gathering.
Omana is lots of love.

I’m still shivering. Thank you all for making it the way it has been.

(And if you don’t know what mana is, come search for it in the bay).

Photography, music and club culture have always been deeply connected. The camera has been there alongside the dancefloor documenting the moments that would otherwise disappear.

On 9 October, we’re bringing a small piece of another underground scene to S//IP through the archive of New York photographer and DJ @jamie.jar , whose work has been documenting clubs, parties and festivals for years.

Jamie Jar is a multi disciplinary artist coming from New York by way of Santa Monica California. Jamie presents his years of documenting nightlife to fruition with “The Guestlist” as moments felt, heard and seen.

Jamie’s main sentiment in all of this is how important nightlife is, not just for himself but for the community at large. “To me, this is about the countless nights I’ve lost sleep over doing what I love. I wouldn’t trade it for the world”.

We’re really happy to put these images into a new context, here in Nicosia, and let them meet our own scene. For us this is more than an exhibition. It’s an attempt to connect different parts of the culture we love - photography, music, nightlife, and the people and spaces that give them meaning.

The exhibition opens from 18.00 and slowly transitions into a party. We’ve invited friends from Cyprus and Greece to join Jamie for the night, bringing together different sounds, influences and perspectives.
