VOLLEYBALL.
where do I even start? my love for the game started when i was just in seventh grade, and i knew it was something i had to pursue. the blood, sweat, and tears i have put into this game have all led up to this moment. the game of volleyball gave me a purpose. it gave me something to look forward to, from seeing my classmates, to seeing my coaches, and simply creating a distraction from my life. back then i never really put much thought into it being my senior year and thinking about how i would never touch the court afterwords because it was so far away right? but time flew by. from my freshman, to my sophomore, and my junior year i slowly started to dread the idea more and more of being a senior because i knew this would be the start of the lasts of everything. now that my volleyball season is over, i feel sad, angry, confused, and i just wish that i could go back in time to when i first found my love for the game.
if i could give any incoming highschooler, or upcoming senior a message it would be this. cherish it. time goes by to fast to take everything for granted. be grateful for every practice you go to, be grateful for every game you go to, be grateful for every single moment that you get in this sport because i promise it’ll be gone before you know it. i will cherish all the friendships i have created through this game and i will remember these moments for the rest of my life.
