Visions from an unforgettable #HackneyMarshes walk alongside @freyanajade for @hackneyhistoryfest.

After 15 drifts across two years we officially wrap up Ceci n’est pas Hackney. We are extremely proud of this project that has allowed us to meet and work with a bunch of exceptionally talented photographers and industry professionals who are genuinely dedicated to the culture, like @rutbleesluxemburg, @maxferguson, @luckygoldteeth and @elizabethjames292.

Our deepest gratitude goes to the brilliant collective of young people who embraced our mission and showed up with consistency and passion to our walks, rain or shine, and helped us set up the show.

For our next edition we will be venturing towards North West London and working in partnership with the @camdenartcentre, as part of their Transformative Futures Youth Collective.

Our commitment to Hackney doesn’t end here and, as long-term residents, we will keep finding ways to engage with our local community with creative activations that reflect the way we live in the city and imagine tomorrow. Watch this space.

Join our next walk:
Saturday May 9th 2026 ⚽️Hackney Marshes 🌸

We asked our superstar @dam1s0la to shoot a promo video for our first walk of 2026, an exciting partnership with @hackneyhistoryfest, which visited our show last November and invited us to be part of its programme.

Damisola went above and beyond, filming in the very place we will be exploring, the only stretch of the Borough we haven’t walked yet: #HackneyMarshes.

On this special occasion, we will be guided by @freyanajade, a photographer who knows this place by heart and published a book about the Marshes with @hoxtonminipress.
There might also be a special guest tbc.

Just for this walk, anyone can join our collective and there’s no age limit. Book your tickets at the link in bio, they’ve been selling fast!

The Fall - EP, won't be possible without these individuals! It took a community to get these ideas out and I'm grateful for each and every one of them. For every grain of input they put into this project, I say a big thank you and give them all the flowers for the work they've done! 💐

Some many more ppl i couldn't tag but i thank you all once more for your work and effort! Many more to come. Cheers! 🥂

💍 We should be mindful when using queer signifiers - by @dam1s0la

As part of our collaboration with Human Rights Defender Jason Jones (@trinijayjay) for UK Black History Month - welcome this week's creative is Damisola Sulaiman.

Together we’ve developed a dedicated series of think pieces as part of the Queer Gaze - our landmark writing scheme - but focused on articles by black, queer, emerging and marginalised writers.

👉 The Queer Gaze is just one part of our weekly newsletter that helps you understand the LGBTQIA+ news and new queer perspectives every week. Support queer creatives by signing up and sharing this piece. #LinkInBio

👀 Instagram slides are never enough to do a story justice. But they are a launchpad for knowledge. To see all of the sources for these slides visit the full edition on our ad-free not-for-profit platform.
