SAVE THE DATE: Come join us on Sunday December 14th for the third SOUND LAB experience: a day filled with music, creativity, and learning designed to help you take your DJ and Music Production skills to the next level while connecting with some of the Industry’s top DJs.

The day starts with workshops hosted by @kutcorners + @adjnamedflow , and then continues through the evening with open decks (preregistration required) + guest sets by our featured DJs/ educators!

DJs are at the core of so many events, but what we realized was that these same working DJs don’t get as many opportunities to connect with one another outside of a gig to learn and/or enhance specific skills that are crucial to their long term success in the industry.

So here it is - your chance to pick some brains, have those conversations you haven’t had time to have, and learn from your peers.

Yesterday warmed our hearts so effin much. DJs from all over the Bay (and beyond!!) came through to learn, connect and have a good time with one another, off the clock. The middle ground on the artistic journey is where most of us need support, and we are so so blessed to have OGs in our community who find true joy in spreading their knowledge. 🫶🏼 Huge shoutout to @rhythmsectionoak for sharing their space, to @kutcorners @tigermom.toy @livinproofsf @stankpalmer for sharing their expertise, to @specialsays_ and @tr1xamillion for being amazing collaborators and caring so deeply for their crafts, and to every single person who walked through those doors on Sunday with an open mind. We see you. We appreciate you. Cheers to more. 🤘🏽🎶

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! We are inviting our #BayAreaDJs to come through for a day of connection and learning in #Oakland .

The day is broken into two portions: day workshop/mixer and open decks/party. The daytime workshop begins at 1pm with a Networking Hour. At 2pm, we will officially kick off the Workshop portion of our day with THREE amazing breakout sessions to choose from, including a session with @tigermom.toy : Take your DJ career to the next level with this workshop designed to help intermediate DJs grow their brands and land bigger bookings! We’ll cover essential strategies for marketing, personal branding, and building a network that opens doors in the music industry. Walk away with actionable tips to stand out and stay booked.
About Toy: “I’m Allyson, a values-driven creative technology leader with over 12 years of experience across the US and Asia.
I started my career in the music business where I got to navigate the industry’s shift to digital, be a pioneer in the onset of social media and creator tools and platforms, and sit at the forefront of influencer marketing in its earliest days.
In the late 2010’s, I spent two years working in Shanghai representing artists and falling in love with China’s dynamic online communities, particularly in gaming and social e-commerce.
In early 2020, I joined Twitch as one of its first music industry hires to lead expansion efforts into music and non-gaming sectors. I spearheaded the organization’s first-ever music deals and scaled creator programs for emerging entertainment verticals (podcasting, lifestyle, fashion, etc.)
I also led Twitch’s Asian ERG through times of unprecedented anti-Asian hate, advocating for internal and external action with Twitch executives, building cross-cultural coalitions, and recruiting and managing a committee leadership team that significantly increased internal DEI data transparency.”
