BUILD YOUR GAME⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Today I am looking Tre Jones a Guard who plays NCAA Division 1 basketball for DUKE. 6 ft 3 point guard who averaged 42.3% FG, 36.1 3P%, ⁣⁣ 16.2PPG and 6.4 AST. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ What I am looking at today his moves off the Pick & Roll(PNR). He utilises the screen so well giving him a number of options to finish. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Coming of the PNR he tends to the following: ⁣⁣ Controlled bump fade ⁣⁣ - Tre will come off the pick and attack down hill he anticipates where his defender will cut him off as they chasing to beat him to the spot. He initiates contact with a bump and pulls up with a controlled fade away jumper. This gives Tre space and a good look at the basket. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Hold - Side step pull up / Hold & GO ⁣⁣ - Tre will set his man up and come off the pick tight initiating contact with the screener. As he comes off the screen he will hold his defender behind him giving him time to analyse the help and make the best move. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Hesitation ⁣⁣ - Tre will come of the pick downhill and use a Hesi using the time to analyse the floor. In the clip on both occasion he freezes his defender and creates a scoring opportunity at the basket. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Tre Jones Body positioning , Footwork , off hand placement and PNR IQ allows him to get to his spots when needed creating scoring opportunities for himself and team mates. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐏𝐍𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐬 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ π‚π¨π§ππšπ’π§ - Big drops to "CONTAIN" Penetration ⁣⁣ π’π¨πŸπ π‡πžππ πž - Big "SHOWS" Quick to slow ball handler down and recovers back to man ⁣⁣ π‡πšπ«π π‡πžππ πž - Big "SHOWS" aggressively to push the ball handler hard back up the court ⁣⁣ π“π«πšπ©π¬/𝐁π₯𝐒𝐭𝐳- BIG & On ball defender Trap or Blitz the ball. ⁣⁣ 𝐈𝐜𝐞 - "ICING" the ball screen is when the on ball defender forces the ball baseline - screeners man drops and contains penetration on baseline side. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ These are possible reads that can occur out of the PNR. What do you do when these occur ? ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This week I'm going to show how different guards response to this reads. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Remember it's one thing having moves to use its another thing knowing when and how use it in game situation. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
