Collegiate Nationals ’25!
PSA: Make sure your chalk bag is open before getting on your route… 😬

Unfortunately, I forgot to do this on my second route and timed out just a few holds short of making finals. It was pretty frustrating making silly mistakes and ending up a few spots out of finals for both sport and boulder, but on the bright side, it was an amazing experience getting to climb all the cool routes at the TC.

Speed was a blast — I hadn’t PRed in almost 3 years, but I was stoked to get 4 new PRs in a row throughout qualis and finals, somehow landing me a spot on the national team! Although I don’t plan on training for speed in the future, It was so fun to dust off the speed shoes and race alongside so many speedy and supportive competitors.

Overall im happy with my performance at my first collegiate nationals and am so grateful I could make the haul out with @illiniclimbing and see so many familiar faces from youth comps.

Collegiate Nationals ‘25

This was easily one of the most fun and memorable competitions experiences I’ve had. Psyched to have made lead finals again (despite the z clip) after missing it last year! It feels like I’m starting to put some pieces together in regards to competing and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds :)

2025 USAC collegiate nationals and US Nationals team!!!

TC lead wall curse is broken! This comp was by far my best all around performance I’ve maybe ever had. When it comes to high level, big stage competitions, mental game, and endurance is the most important factor. In the past, mental game has been my biggest challenge. Keeping my self confidence up and my ability to fight for days on end, round after round and warm up after warm up is exhausting. This past year I lowered my strictness in my training, allowing myself to focus on working what would keep me psyched and motivated each day as it came and it paid off. I had the mental energy to stay present, to fight till the end, and to execute each move with confidence and also joy. While I am a little annoyed with missing the podium due to count back and then time, I am beyond proud to make the US national team and to be able to share that with so many amazing athletes and friends who I have been competing with since the beginning.

Stoked for the year to come!
