OUR FUTURE is here. The 16mm hand-processed films are now live and archived forever on publicaccesslimited.com

For this project, filmmaker participants were asked to create an all in-camera film in response to the prompt “OUR FUTURE”.
Every OP team was mailed 100’ of 16mm film and asked to mail it back once exposed along with an original accompanying soundtrack.

Every roll was hand-processed and scanned by PAL. No edits were made and soundtracks were placed in sync to the first exposed frame of film. Participants saw their short films play for the first time at the same time as the audience while they were broadcasted as blocks within the PAL: FUTURE ARCHIVES live broadcast on June 26th, 2026.

OUR FUTURE: I hand developed a bunch of 16mm films from filmmakers around the country and you can now go watch them. I mailed 100’ of 16mm film to all the participants and asked for them to mail it back once exposed along with an original soundtrack created blind. Every roll was hand-processed. No edits were made, and I synced the soundtracks to the first exposed frame of film. The filmmakers saw their film for the first time at the same time as the audience when we live-streamed them all online last week. “no machines between us!” FUTURE ARCHIVES 001 begins with an alignment exercise to re-regulate the nervous systems of everyone in the room, reminding us that we don’t need technology to connect with each other. the story behind this is i woke up on june 26th the morning of the show and this poem just started moving thru my mind. i got a pen and quickly wrote it down. not sure where this manifesto came from but it felt like it needed to be read aloud at the show to kick things off. no one but me had heard it before i read it. i hadnt even read it aloud to myself... the beauty of this show is that we all can still experience things for the first time in a room together 🫶🏻❤️

who knows, maybe we’ll have a new manifesto come down from the heavens at the next show. maybe even a different person on the mic? either way, it was an honor to be your first PAL voice.

👰 Santa Bachelorette!

I know you may be thinking, why is this woman always getting married? Well, in my defence, at least it’s to the same person.

I never thought marriage would be a part of my path, and yet I love being married to Marcus more than anything. Meanwhile working towards a bigger wedding celebration has become a joy.

My Los Angeles ladies really encouraged and enabled said joy as we spent a couple of nights in the hills of Santa Barbara, eating, campari-ing, laughing, dancing, prosecco-ing, chatting, bar-hopping, ubering... I enjoyed a private reenactment of MamaMia, was impersonated x 4, had the opportunity to introduce my American girls to Craig David (admittedly to mixed reviews), almost burnt my skin off in an illegally hot hot tub, and was lured to an old mountain saloon.

I left Santa Babs with my heart bursting. I love these ladies. I love SoCal. I love love. And I’m almost ready to be a bride again 🤍
