Episode 17 of Game Jams is available to listen back on-demand via the @pbsfm website and app.

Belated playlist post because I've been flat out at #migw26 all week, which this episode is all about! Hear music from heaps of games you can find all over Melbourne during Melbourne International Games Week, at ACMI, PAX, the AGDAS, and more.

Hear my chat with @extralivesmusic about their interactive video game music live shows, and where they're playing in Melbourne this week.

I also chat with @jojothezhou of @massivemonsters about what we can expect from the High Score panel with @arrowbirdofficial.

Also we'll hear from @thefakedario about his work on the @projankfooty soundtrack.

It's a fast paced episode with heaps of local favourites. Listen back on-demand on the episode page pbsfm.org.au/program/game-jams

Just over a week since the inaugural AYO Changemakers Summit at the Sydney Opera House! ✨

After months of planning with the AYO Youth Council, it was pretty special to see it all come together — a day of young artists sharing ideas, asking questions and having some really interesting conversations about what the future of the arts could look like.

I also got to perform my original work Firelight on guzheng in the middle of it all!

I went into the Summit thinking about how we advocate for the arts, and left thinking about an even bigger question: how do we build a culture where the arts are genuinely valued?

Very proud of what our Youth Council created together 💛
And AYO has just published my reflection from the day — Art is for everyone, so let’s make it irresistible.

Taking the longer view with Monash University Professor Dan Golding, host of ABC Classic’s Screen Sounds. 💡Dan joined the Changemakers Summit at the Sydney Opera House for a conversation about the future: the future of audiences, the future of AI and the future of the arts. AYO Youth Council member Mikayla Yap and her peers discussed funding opportunities with the guests, along with the risks and opportunities of a rapidly-changing artistic landscape.

✍️To hear about the event in the Youth Council’s own words, make sure you are subscribed to Newsbeat - out this Friday!

A huge thank you to Dan and all our guests for their conversation and insights. 💜

For the past year or so, I’ve had the very great pleasure of working with @andrewjpogson and @karlcknapp at @concertlabau through @mohworksfilms, producing and directing video content for shows with the @sydneysymphonyorchestra, @melbournesymphonyorchestra and more.

It’s been a bit of a dream getting to work in places like the Sydney Opera House, Hamer Hall and Sydney Entertainment Centre, with a front-row seat to some of the best musicians in the world doing what they do.

A huge highlight has also been working with @bucnicholas and @dan.golding of @artofthescore. I’ve been a fan of their shows and podcast for years, so getting to create visuals for their live concerts celebrating the music of John Williams, Joe Hisaishi, James Horner and The Lord of the Rings has been pretty unbelievable.

And getting to spend some time with the brilliant @jungjaeil.composer and, naturally, bombard him with questions about working with Bong Joon Ho was a particularly surreal highlight. And did I mention the shows featured @katemillerheidke and @amylehpamer as soloists? What a dream to get to watch them work.

A big thanks to @jleggereit, @adriandiery.composer and @calebgrahamfilms for all their equally fantastic work across the various projects.

Here are a few highlights from what we’ve made together so far!

Thank you wonderful @the_aso and dream team @artofthescore for a very special few days of music making and sharing. What an absolute joy to reconnect with luminous @jessicagethinconductor after 2 decades, as well as friends from high school, uni and ANAM days — so many memories and flashbacks to our student days! 😅 What a privilege to share a stage with you all 🙏
