BROMANCE! A Short Story. (Slide 13😂)
We three were always seen together in school. You wouldn’t see Toby and not see me around and you would see me without Achem lurking somewhere. Over the years we have had so many experiences, so many! Separations, heartbreaks, health emergencies, near death experiences, and through them all, we have stuck like brothers. So much so that someone else took the best man position since he couldn’t give it to either of us.
I never grew up in a family where saying “I love you” was common and I don’t blame anyone honestly. My family members and siblings can barely utter the words, neither did I ever hear it from my dad before he passed. I genuinely didn’t grow up in Love. I believe that was part of my emotionally damaging ordeal.
These boys have shown me love, these boys have made me see love in a pure, unrefined form. They have shown me that it’s not weird for a brother or a man to tell his fellow man “I love you” in such pure heartfelt manner.
A combination of Toby and Achem in my life have definitely made me find balance and find brotherhood outside family.
Giving Achem away to the love of his life last weekend was nothing short of magical, I hid my tears seeing this boy, who has been through hell and back, find so much happiness. I didn’t wanna leave him because I felt just a little that we were giving away our best man for good.
This is my little way of appreciating God for these two men! And praying that all their Lives, God will continue to be faithful and true!
