Julho foi de encontros. Marquei presença na Ocean Art Gallery 2026, a minha primeira exposição coletiva, integrada no Portuguese Surf Film Festival, com curadoria de Bibiana Rigoli e a companhia de outros dez artistas.

July was a month of encounters. I was present at Ocean Art Gallery 2026, my first collective exhibition, integrated in the Portuguese Surf Film Festival, curated by Bibiana Rigoli and in the company of ten other artists.

Sair da mesa do ateliê e entrar no diálogo com outros olhares foi uma das partes mais estimulantes do mês.

Stepping out of the studio table and into dialogue with other perspectives was one of the most stimulating parts of the month.

"A prosperidade depende dos outros, nada floresce sem partilha", esta frase de Robin Wall Kimmerer, em “A Economia da Dádiva”, acompanhou o meu mês.

"Prosperity depends on others, nothing flourishes without sharing", this sentence by Robin Wall Kimmerer, in The Serviceberry, accompanied my month.

Fui reparando nos pormenores azuis da Ericeira, e nas passagens pelos lugares habituais.

I kept noticing the blue details of Ericeira, and the passages through the usual places.

Sol, conversas, bebidas frescas, o verão no seu esplendor na esplanada amarela.

Sun, conversations, cool drinks, summer at its fullest on the yellow terrace.

As leituras foram alimentando o mote do mês. “A Economia da Dádiva” de Kimmerer tem estado a inspirar dias e projetos que estão a nascer. A meio, veio um segundo convite de leitura, uma revisão do “The Creative Act”, de Rick Rubin.

The readings kept feeding the theme of the month. Kimmerer's The Serviceberry has been inspiring days and projects that are being born. Halfway through, a second reading invitation came, a revisiting of The Creative Act, by Rick Rubin.

O mercado teve mais duas edições, com visitas, histórias trocadas, e peças que foram encontrando nova casa.

The market had two more editions, with visits, stories exchanged, and pieces that were finding new homes.

When she came to my studio to write about my shell art, I didn’t expect it to stay with me like this.

It was meant to be an interview…
but it felt more like two people reconnecting with something familiar.

The ocean.
Shells.
That quiet feeling they give you. If you know that feeling, you’ll recognize this moment.

We talked, we shared stories,
we traced textures and shapes with our hands…
and somewhere in between,
it stopped being about questions and answers.

There was an ease, a kind of understanding you don’t need to explain —
like when someone finally sees the same beauty you see.

Maybe that’s what this article holds now.
Not just my work, but that connection.

Thank you for seeing it, and for putting it into words.

Art is always personal, it touches you or it doesn’t, you like it or you don’t, you feel something or you feel nothing
And luckily we all have different taste

With this piece I instantly felt it, wether it’s flowers or butterflies, you have my attention, and when it is made of natural material coming from the ocean I also love so much,
we have a soul MATCH 💜

If you look closely you can see the seashells, they are all handpicked and put together one by one into this beautiful flower circle ⚪️🟣

Wrapping up the Portuguese Surf Film Festival @surffilm with a few glimpses behind the scenes, from my visual identity work to the Ocean Art Exhibition curated by @bibirigoli.

The exhibition brought together sea-themed works from a range of artists, each interpreting the ocean in their own way.

This year’s visual identity was inspired by the colors of Ericeira – white houses, bold blue accents, and sun-warmed orange rooftops. A stripped-back palette that aimed to feel cinematic, coastal, and distinctly Portuguese.

Proud to have shaped the look and feel of this year’s festival – bold, minimal, and rooted in place.
