Mil gracias a la mera @dance_con_carmen for bringing her creativity + dedication to building our humble ofrenda year after year. During this season we honor our deceased loved ones in this way, and we invite you to bring in a small photocopy of your dearly departed’s photo ~ just give it to our bar staff and we will add it to our community altar in their honor. We save all of the photos we receive and place them on our ofrenda every year thereafter.

Our Día de los Muertos altar sits under the watchful gaze of our enormous @juls_arte_ Xoloitzcuintle mural ~ the Xolo is an ancient dog breed native to Mexico with a history spanning over 3,000 to 5,000 years. Ancient Mesoamericans believed the Xolo guarded homes + guided human souls safely through the underworld.

Our ofrenda is a work in progress, and we are super grateful to Carmen for her help bringing it to fruition ~ stop by and check it out when you’re next in nuestra vecindad 🫶🏽
