I was not prepared for this.

I thought I was just signing her up for something fun. A little twirling, some cute shoes, maybe a bow in her hair.

Nobody warned me I would be sitting in that auditorium trying not to ugly cry in front of strangers while a 4 year old in a costume gracefully dancing.

Here’s the thing - I was her age when I started dance. Four years old, in a costume just like hers.

And now I’m the mom in the crowd.

I don’t know when that happened but I am not okay. 🥹

First recital. First bow. Full circle moment I will never forget.

My heart is completely full. 🩰🩷 #dancemom #firstrecital #momlife #theduellos

Goodbye Dance Art, I owe it all to you. 💞

- After coming home from italy the night before, i had the chance to perform for the next 2 days for the last time ever with the most amazing people in the whole world. I may seem to have it all together most the time but the past few days truly have shown me how human i can just be. I will never find another love like I do with dance, and although it may be one of my last performances ever, dance will never leave my heart. And thats thanks to all of you. Miss. Jenny, Jessy, Michelle, Annie, Jeanie, Kristen, Laure, and so so many more, thank you for taking a chance on me, and teaching me the beauty of movement and emotion all together. You all have done so much more for me than you can ever imagine. To all the girls who ive ever had the pleasure of sharing a stage with, thank you for knowing me and being the family that i never had to force to be apart of. You all are so talented and pure, i only hope to see you grow and flourish for the rest of your dance journeys and ill always come back in the process.
Goodbye Dance Art, Tuesday/Thursday nights and early Saturday mornings will always leave space for the memories we shared, Thank you for everything. 💞💞
