spent a very full day yesterday supporting @dancheripka as he ran 70.5 miles (!!!!) at the @laurelultra 🫡🏃🏻‍♂️‍➡️
.
never thought that being an RD would lead me to helping a friend fuel himself through a freaking ultramarathon…but here we are! it was so fun getting to flex some new nutrition muscles 💪🏼
.
it was truly amazing to see the community of runners and their supports come together 🎉👏🏼 ultra running is so supportive and inspiring…though I’m good to go without the 14 hour day again any time soon 😅

First open mat to last open mat.

06.2020

@stoutpgh East/Monroeville opened and @warrenstout gave me the keys and told me I was to manage this location. I always called Monroeville “The Covid Special” because we opened in the midst of it and it was a very strange time for most people, especially a BJJ/martial arts school. I dealt with my own struggles at the time and was very unsure of how I was going to grow this school. I had many days that I had no students come to class, I taught 1 on 1 lessons to students who would come to group classes and it was very tough. I kept showing up and tried my best with every class and it’s paid off. Fast forward 4+ years later, we have massive classes where we run out of mat space, I’ve met some incredible people because of this place, some I would consider to be lifelong friends. The energy and atmosphere of all these students who strive to be better and push each other but at the same time look out for each other is unmatched. I’m proud of what this location has come to be and I’m so excited to start a new chapter with these amazing people. I’m so grateful for every single one of you, you make this dream a reality. See you all on the mats!

Lots of new belts this weekend. Started out at Monroeville location with 11 new belts! These kids have been working hard and happy to have our first of many belt promotions in Monroeville.

@jepthah_orstein_ was promoted to black belt by @warrenstout It was awesome to see somebody who I’ve learned a lot from and look up too finally get his black belt. If you ever get a chance to train or learn from him, I would advise you do so. Congrats brother!

Lastly, congrats to everybody who got promoted as well! But extra love to 4 new purple belts in @stoutpgh Monroeville @rcameron375 , Sheldon, Joe and @king_du__ 💜

Congrats everyone, keep up the hard work!
