won 2 small battles last year ; a year and change later and it’s still feels like …a beginning i spose. after years of learning & practice, a touchstone prior to a beginning that hasn’t quite happened yet.

typically at home,i’ll be pitching in to host the battle, or have some other excuse, so this felt great to get some reps in, and put it all out there. geeking out with three cleveland goats after the dub, extremely gassed by the time (slide 10) the tiebreaker final round came about, against @angel.3.7 or losing my footing and my pacing frankly, getting to or up from the floor, when exhanging rounds with @mrdisom

a year and change, going through these pics and watching some videos back, i still feel the amazing amount of support in that room! ngl, the support made the difference. so thank you
🥹🙏🏻

and that’s cleveland dance for you! despite having shit to address, change, or heal from, within ourselves and as a whole, i do believe a goodness sits at the core.

also! : to the women, i.e. slide 7 (and many of you not pictured). Ladies sessions, however infrequent 😆 just hit different. In particular, you all, you each inspire me in different ways more than you know… how you hold it down…not merely hold your own, in any room, through your dance, or perhaps your singing, teaching, or motherhood… behind a camera, your command on the mic, or words sitting next to me in the car or at the kitchen table. couldn’t keep on this track / truck if it weren’t for all of you . setting such kickass examples, each in your own lane. and far beyond dance. not to mention dance itself has never been just dance.

Some accomplishments are hard to put into words.

A vision God gave me years ago is unfolding in real time — and being a witness to it is both a joy and a blessing. Watching our Black cheerleaders from Cleveland travel, perform, and shine? I held back tears more than once — tears of joy. 🥹

To the girls who worked hard, the parents who stayed dedicated, and everyone who believes in GWA — thank you.

To our amazing team — Brooke, Anna, and Jay — we’re grateful for your leadership and commitment. We turned it up a notch this season, together. 🔥

None of this happens without Dick’s Sporting Goods. Thank you for believing in us through Sports Matter — you made this possible. 🤍

We train, read, eat, problem solve, and grow together. 💗💐
We went to Orlando to put in work — and had fun while doing it. ✈️🧡

Global Girls With Attitude. This is only the beginning. 🤍

Pressing rewind on the top of the year 💭 Watching our GWA girls grow, work hard, and own that main stage has been everything. 😍

Thanks to our supporters and @dickssportinggoods Sports Matter — this season was one to remember. Thank you for investing in our girls. Let’s keep this momentum going! 💐💗💐

Summer with Pathways to Purpose up next!
