Designing glass furniture in real time with the incredible @daneaustindesign ✨

One of the highlights of my season was this working session at the lab with Dane and his client, Cristina for her stunning home renovation.

When Dane reached out with his vision for a textured, color drenched glass custom dining table and one of a kind colored mirror walls, I knew he needed to play with glass himself at the lab.
And that’s just what we did.

Behold his vision coming to life! An amber, mottled “drip” pattern on kiln formed textured glass by our partners @lucidglassstudio. Ultimately this small sample shall become a 72” long racetrack oval dining table. Stay tuned!

Design note: the faint teal-greenish hue of clear glass vs ultra clear starfire glass is exactly what we DO want for this project. Notice how the edge of the glass pulls in the color palette of the textiles Dane is curating for Cristina and her family.

Part showroom, part playground, a trip to Glass Lab brings what’s possible to a designer’s fingertips. Samples are great, but making your samples come to life? That’s divine design in real time. #intheglasslab⚡️

Thank you, Dane and Cristina for making the journey to Whitinsville!

What's your favorite part about this space? There's so much to love! The dimensional hex tile carries through the hall and draws the eye toward the papered powder room.

The first chilly nights are here, and these seven fireplaces make a strong case for staying in. A walnut-paneled wall with a roaring fire, a fieldstone hearth tucked beneath the stairs, a classic mahogany mantel: which one would you pull up a chair to? 🔥

Inside a 1905 gambrel in Boston’s historic “Doctor’s Row,” designer Dane Austin (@daneaustindesign) created a deeply personal home where jewel-toned furnishings, 19th-century antiques, Art Deco influences, and contemporary pieces all find their place. From emerald-green Chelsea tiles and robin’s-egg-blue cabinetry to colorful guest rooms inspired by the full ROYGBIV spectrum, every space reflects Austin’s love of expressive, layered design. ✨💙🌷🎨🍂

The renovation preserved the home’s original character while reimagining it for modern living, including a redesigned kitchen, larger windows, custom details, and statement lighting throughout.

The renovation is done. And it's included.

Award-winning designer Dane Austin (@daneaustindesign), a House Beautiful Whole Home Showhouse designer, spent years restoring his own 1905 Shingle-Style home on Meeting House Hill. The kitchen earned Architectural Digest recognition, and every room got the same attention.

Original Chelsea tile fireplace. Wraparound porch. Skyline views from the top of "Doctor's Row." The character you want in an early Boston home, with the design work most buyers spend years and a fortune trying to recreate.

6 beds | 2.5 baths | $1,195,000
