THE LIBRARY OF ESOTERICA PRESENTS
THROUGH THE LIMINAL: An Equinox Celebration of Sound, Symbol & Ritual

Join us for an immersive Fall Equinox gathering exploring the threshold between light and dark through the contemplative and symbolic traditions of East and West.
The evening begins with an Opening Ceremony by
Equinox Ritual, marking this moment of balance and creating a shared space for reflection, release, and intention.

The immersive performance act SEEKERS will begin the night with an exploration of the Equinox through the Western esoteric language of Tarot. Prompted by an audience interactive three-card pull, SEEKERS will offer a musical experience inspired by the archetypes of the selected Arcana.

The night will culminate with Liberate Elemental Forces, highlighting the Eastern tradition of Indian raga, a living musical framework connected to mood, time, season, and states of consciousness. Like ritual, tarot, or astrology in the Western esoteric tradition, raga offers a symbolic language through which we encounter the inner landscape.

Together, these traditions create a dialogue between East and West, sound and symbol, light and dark, inviting us to experience the Equinox as a moment of balance, regeneration, and renewal.

This is who people are saying just turned 40 🥲 My birthday was actually Sept. 14th, but I’m feeling grateful to age 💖 I genuinely feel blessed to be surrounded by loving friends and family, and to be able to create and thrive. I spread my birthday out over a few days (as is custom for a Monday birthday, right?) and was so happy to celebrate with so many of my loved ones 💞 Most people know I was raised Jehovah’s Witness, but if you didn’t, now you know why birthdays mean so much to me! I’m honestly birthday’d out now - I don’t need another birthday for another decade or so 😂
Happy birthday to all my fellow Virgos! ♍️💜💜💜
.
PS: My sister made the string of pictures of me as a baby/kid!! 😭❤️❤️❤️
.
PPS: If you see this, and you were the one that took our pickle floaty… GIVE IT BACK 🤣💚

It’s been a week since opening night for From Memory to A Sign من ذكرى إلى علامة
This was several years in the making, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you to everyone who came out! What a joy to see all of you!

Here I am, photographed by @saskiacwb , beside my maternal grandparents, who have had immense influence on my life, my career, and this exhibit. I am also wearing my Lebanese Teta’s scarf around my waist. Her love and intelligence, curiosity and advocacy, have always stayed with me.

This exhibit is up for viewing until October 23rd
Fridays 1-5pm

Go experience this audio installation where you can hear my grandfather talk about his incredible life as a broadcaster and more. Their wedding night inspired my perfume, Nar, which you can also smell and listen to Abdel Halim too 🔥❤️
I named this piece “Lissa Fakir” meaning “Do you Still Remember?”
Because we used to listen to Om Kolthoum together ✨

@danedalbalcon appreciating another special piece, “Tislam E’idek” Bless Your Hands
Included: handmade ceramic beads, scented with Mystica. My paternal great grandmother is pictured, next to this piece, with her half sister.
Mount Lebanon circa 1895-1900
Her daughter, my teta, also loved using rosary beads (masba7as)

This was the trickiest part to put up! Shim El Yasmeen, Thani, in honour of my first installation as part of @sundusabdulhadi ‘s “ Take Care of Yourself” 2016
As an extension to that piece, I used the same silk hand sewn leaves from that piece, and created these ceramic jasmines by hand. Glazed and scented with Jaz

I love it when fellow perfumers and scent lovers appreciate the work as much as I do 🫶🏽

🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷 Damn y’all that was really special. Thank you to everyone who showed up on Saturday— it was really fun and scary to bare my heart to you. I feel held.

The word that keeps coming up around this project is “brave.” When @scoutlaruewillis was reading my words to the room, oh my god, it felt like she was reading my diary aloud. An intimate exposé. I realized that I deeply loved it (clearly).

Thank you @rachelrknowles for reading your poem Lovergirl. Rachel read this aloud to everyone at my birthday party and though the seed for this project had already been planted it would become the song that I would return to in my head over and over again while I made each page of my book. And thank you for hiding in the bathroom with me and helping me name and welcome my anxiety, I was able to actually enjoy myself after that 🤍

Thank you Kelly Xio @ohgeography for reading your GORGEOUS WRITING— one of my favorite writers, I devour every word she shares.

Thank you Cesar Padilla @cherryvintagenyc for tickling us with your sexy stories of men in lingerie, fitted perfectly in Clemence’s lingerie shop @leboudoirlosangeles

Thank you Zella @zelladay for sharing your birdsong with us, but above all of that thank you for being a hand gently laid on my shoulder to remind me that I was not doing all of this alone 🌞

Thank you Josh @love_conquers_yall for your love and support (and patience and graciousness) as I tried something new for the first time and holy shit I still can’t believe you played at my show. Pinch me 🥵💖

Thank you @clemencepariente for immediately and excitedly offering your space to me to host this event, what a giant gift.

Special fucking thank you @bagelsandbotox literally couldn’t have done it without you. Let’s ride ⭐️

****to those who ordered books I will be shipping out over the next couple days! Love you!!!!

It was an honor to have you all!!! 😽
