POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Dixon and Daughters ‘26 🏡 This show became such a huge part of my life over the last several months. There’s something really strange about spending so much time with the same people. You see each other on the good days, the exhausting days, the days where the hours feel endless, and then suddenly you’re standing there after the final show wondering how it’s already over. I have gained so many memories that I know I’m going to carry with me for a very long time. The long rehearsals, the even longer days, watching the same scenes a hundred times and somehow still finding something new in them. The conversations in between everything. The quiet moments. The completely chaotic ones. The feeling of knowing exactly where everyone would be and what they’d be doing without even having to ask. Somewhere along the way, this team stopped feeling like people I was just working with and started feeling like family. That’s probably the hardest part about finishing a show. You get so used to seeing these people constantly that it becomes normal. You know you’ll walk into the theatre and they’ll be there. You know there will be another rehearsal or another performance. And then suddenly there isn’t. It wasn’t the ending we wanted with the flood, but I’m so grateful for everything that came before it. For every performance, every rehearsal, every long day, every laugh, every conversation and every memory that came out of this little world we made together. I’m going to miss this show and the beautiful people that helped bring this show to life. What a special little chapter this was. I’m so grateful for every part of it. 🤍🏡

And just like that, the Australian Premiere of Dixon and Daughters is wrapped! While we didn’t get the Closing Night we had hoped for, we’re grateful for the season we did get to share with you. Thank you to everyone who came through our doors: sat with us, talked about the show, shared it with others and supported this production. It’s been a joy and a privilege to share @deborahcbruce powerful work with Australian audiences for the very first time, and to have the @oldfitztheatre as the home for this story. And to our incredible cast and creative team: what a house. What a team. What a season! 🥹 This is one we’ll be carrying with us for a while. Thank you for visiting!
