Marriage is a lot like finding your style together.

You’re two different people. You have different personalities, different preferences, different ways of doing things—and sometimes, very different ideas of what looks good. 🫣

But somewhere along the way, you learn that you don’t have to become the same person to make the marriage work.

You learn each other.
You appreciate each other.
You make room for each other.
And somehow, the differences that could have divided you become the things that complement you best.

That’s the beauty of marriage. That’s the beauty of our marriage.

Find your own style. Let your spouse have theirs. And then figure out how the two of you can complement, not compete with, each other.

Because marriage isn’t about losing who you are. It’s about learning how to become “us” without losing “me” or “you.”

So… let it work for you and your spouse.
Different doesn’t mean disconnected. Sometimes, different is exactly what makes the two of you work.

Sometimes you don’t realize how much you need a date night until you finally have one.

It had been WAY too long since we’d gone on a date night. Then this week, the girls were away on a school retreat, and we decided to take full advantage of the quiet and do a double date night.

Best. Decision. Ever.

We laughed, talked, ate good food, and just enjoyed being together—without the usual schedules, responsibilities, and distractions.

It was a simple reminder that taking time for your marriage matters.

Life gets busy. The kids need you. Work needs you. The house needs you. There will always be something that needs your attention.

But sometimes, you have to intentionally press pause and make time for each other.

So take the date night. Plan the dinner. Get dressed up. Laugh together. Make the memories.

Your relationship deserves some of your time, too.
