Sometimes, the most beautiful way to honor the dogs we’ve loved and lost... is by helping the ones who still need us.

In memory of their beloved Pebbles, who passed away on June 24th after more than a decade of love following her rescue from MDAS, the Qualy family has generously pledged a $10,000 matching gift.

They also wanted to honor the dogs who forever changed their lives.

Dogs like D’Angelo, who we rescued in 2015 after he was found severely starved, rolled in a blanket and thrown into a yard like trash.

Carmen, who we rescued in 2016 after she was shot in the back by neighborhood kids, leaving her paralyzed. After months of rehabilitation, she miraculously learned to walk again.

Baby Babe, who came into our care in 2018 after being surrendered.

And our beloved Stevie the Wonder Dog, who was abandoned in a carrier on a freezing night in Philadelphia, her eyes glued shut and her tiny body covered in urine.

These are just a few of the lives the Qualy family opened their hearts to.

In honor of them, they now want to help the dogs who are still waiting for their second chance.

After everything our rescue has been through lately, this match fund couldn’t have come at a better time.

Our goal is to raise $20,000, and thanks to the incredible generosity of the Qualy family, every donation will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $10,000.

🥹🎂 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻!

Ten years ago, this precious girl was born. Her life didn’t begin the way it should have. Her early days were filled with pain, but today, those memories are far behind her.

In the summer of 2016, we rescued Carmen from Puerto Rico after being shot in the spine and left paralyzed. We brought her to New York, unsure of what the future would hold, but determined to give her every chance possible.

Carmen underwent physical therapy and saw countless specialists.

We never gave up on her, and with her incredible strength and resilience, she achieved what many thought was impossible.

𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 🥰

Today, Carmen isn’t just walking; she’s running, playing, and truly thriving. She is a living miracle in every sense of the word.

We are endlessly grateful to her family, who gave Carmen everything she, and any dog, could have ever hoped for: love and a beautiful life.

💖Carmen is also a proud sister to D’Angelo and Babe, two fellow NYBC alumni. What a perfect pack.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 🐶 ✨

Seeing our adopted dogs truly live, watching them enjoy the lives they always deserved is the reason we do this.

D’Angelo is the perfect example of the bully breed’s heart: resilient, gentle, and endlessly forgiving despite everything he endured.

Rescued in 2015, D’Angelo’s story is one we will never forget. He was discovered rolled tightly inside a rug, discarded on a front lawn.

When the rug began to move, police were called, and inside was D’Angelo, barely alive. He was dangerously emaciated, weighing just 29 lbs when he should have been closer to 80.

At the veterinary hospital, we were told the kindest option might be to let him go. But we saw something more, a dog who had known nothing but neglect and still deserved a chance.

And he took that chance.

Day by day, D’Angelo surprised everyone. He healed. He gained strength. He overcame trauma. He transformed, not just physically, but emotionally.

🥂 And then, he found what every dog dreams of: his forever family.

For the past ten years, D’Angelo has been living his absolute best life, surrounded by love and his siblings.

Watching him thrive continues to remind us why we fight so hard for these dogs. 💙

What a magical night @thebrooksyc and I had at New York Bully Crew’s first ever gala, to help raise funds for their new sanctuary!

That’s right, Brooks and I flew to Long Island to attend this special night. As animal activists, we love all animals equally but Pitbulls are dear to our hearts. The discrimination they still face as well as the cowardly criminals who abuse and force them to fight, haunts us immensely. So when a genuine no-kill rescue who’s saved countless of bully breeds out of horrible situations since 2010 has their first big event, we knew we couldn’t miss it.

Since 2016, (before I ever had a Pitbull) my mom and I tuned in everyday to enjoy the founder of NYBC @c.legit5 stories during his car rides with his rescued angels. We loved and could relate to his NYC humor and his compassion for misunderstood breeds, and specially abled dogs. What makes him even more legit, is that he is vegan and respects and loves all animals.

You would think being a dog rescuer and vegan would go hand in hand, but truthfully they are rarer than you’d think. Especially a Pitbull rescuer. That’s why my dad loved this guy and had such respect for him. Sadly my parents never met him, but I feel they were there with us that night when Brooks and I met him. Craig is definitely our kind of people and we clicked more than I could have hoped. Such a solid, good person.

We met such authentic and awesome people as well as adoptable dogs and other alumnis Craig rescued years ago. One being @dangelo_nybc who was found 9 years ago rolled up in an area rug and skin and bones to being a healthy and loved touch therapy dog for people today. How beautiful is that? Food was great, (loved the vegan hero and dessert) and to top it off, we walked four amazing dogs at the rescue the next day that I will share separately.

They raised $40,000 which will go toward their sanctuary but could always use donations since they have excessive medical bills and over 70 dogs in their care. $5 and sharing with friends and family makes a difference.

Can’t wait for the next gala and other events we’ll do our best to attend since NYBC will always have a special place in my heart. 🖤🐾 #nybcfam
