Fred Giannelli's Telepathic Records jumped on to my map in 1994 when his "Fingered" track under the name Mazdaratti was featured on Laurent Garnier's legendary X-Mix. As a long time fan of Psychic TV at the time, I wasn't surprised Fred was involved in a fantastic label for techno music. He wasn't the only one who came from industrial and EBM roots over to techno during the late 80s and early 90s. Artists like Richard H Kirk, Genesis P-Orridge , Uwe Schmidt, Paul Browse and many others that came from industrial, New Beat and EBM would also make their impact in techno as well, helping solidify the connection between these styles and the future of techno. Microset Morning was Mark Cage aka Vapourspace and another name from EBM's past in Coleman Horn from Artillerymen. They did this track called 'Drift.com' about the future of the internet. A track that still sounds futuristic today....

Let’s get on some more back catalog archaeology! On Tim Taylor’s label MISSILE Recordings, in 1995, i released a double 12 inch vinyl under the pseudonym ”FRED 3”. It was the follow up for “FRED 2” from 1994 and a very productive year since me and Glenn Wilson just completed building the Hybrid and Planet Rhythm studio in the basement, under the Planet Rhythm Record shop in Stockholm. Basically only leaving the studio for DJ gigs and sometimes food.

Did loads of fun co-ops as well with awesome peeps like Alexi Delano, Jesper Dahlbäck, Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Oliver Bonzio from Hardfloor, DJ Skull aka Ron Maney, Steve Stoll, Fred Gianelli of Telepathic Records and Freddie Fresh. The tracks “Jump 3” & “Jump 4” where actually first released on Freddie Fresh’s Analog Records USA. Plenty of Fred, Freddies and Fred vs Fred’s all through out the 90s. Not to forget my bruv Fredy Steffen from Switzerland, my childhood friend Fredrik aka RND and Fredrik “Renegade” that also was involved in the Ohm Records project with Robert Leiner in the first years of the 90s. Fred actually means peace in Swedish ≈]

The lacquers for “FRED 3” where again cut extraordinary by Mike at the Exchange in London and where also raising quite a few eyebrows in those days with extreme loudness versus dynamics. Find all 4 trax from the ”FRED 3” in my lekebusch.bandcamp.com <3 EZPZ CL*

Late night post just because - I feel so at home here - Saturdays @ 1am on MTV was the place to be as a kid, for me anyway.

(Fred Giannelli - “The Acid Didj #3”/full video airing on a 1998 episode of MTV's AMP - video was released in 1994) 🌀

“Telepathic Wisdom, Vol. 1” is the album that this is a part of (also releasing in 1994) and a little about Fred Giannelli - he's an electronic musician best known for his work in techno, acid house, and experimental electronic music starting in the 1980s! Giannelli has released music under many aliases (including The Kooky Scientist) and was an early collaborator with Psychic TV, contributing heavily to their acid-house–era output.

This particular track blends acid techno with didgeridoo-influenced drones, giving it a trippy, hypnotic, almost ritualistic feel.

Sonically, it mixes classic 303 acid lines, slow-moving, earthy didgeridoo textures and stripped-down, minimal techno rhythms - something that I'm well acquainted with.

Clocking in it just a little over 2 minutes long, this is 100% in acid trip and you wouldn't find it on any other music program at the time.

That's why AMP was the place to be - yeah, you had TRL and 120 Minutes, but for me personally? AMP was my favorite program for a long time is simply because it was so underground, like, deep underground.

But yeah man, such a cool track! This is a type of stuff that I fell in love with as a kid, I'm telling ya.

Thanks for watching!

I spy with my little eye… some amazing cameos in these music videos I’m working to preserve. Sometimes Brian recruited models or friends he knew, sometimes crew members got pulled into the action. In these slides, we have:
1: Then design student @kellywearstler in Manufacture’s “As the End Draws Near” (Nettwerk didn’t have the budget to fly @officialsarahmclachlan to Boston. Brian knew Kelly from Newbury Street)
2: Renowned art photographer @doriskloster hitchhiking in @mc9000ftjesus “Killer Inside Me ( @danger.fellini is also in this video - if you don’t blink you can catch him)
3: @greg_hawkes cameo in Japanese band Gontiti’s “Windy Land”
4: @tania_danger in Manufacture’s “As the End Draws Near”
5: @tania_danger giving @markg.mc900 shade in @mc9000ftjesus “The Killer Inside Me”

We want to thank everyone who came out yesterday for South Korean Satanic Organist PAIN! He performed over 40 minutes of material including pipe organ interpretations of Dead Can Dance, Beatles, and of course Black Sabbath, along with traditional medieval pieces and original compositions! Very very cool. Look for that footage on our YouTube channel in the coming days! We’re open today 11-6! 📸 - @danger.fellini
