Making the art is the easy part of being an artist. Al the unseen labor of writing artist statements, applying to shows, meeting deadlines, designing websites, business cards, social media, pricing work, packaging, shipping. It’s a lot. When you purchase a work of art know that the creator is doing a lot more than just “making art”.

Today begins installation of OPEN TACTICS, a small group exhibition opening @coburnartgallery August 24 through September 27.

@ohiouniversity_art.design alumnus Cynthia Petry, Coburn Gallery director, was incredibly helpful and supportive as we established a solid installation plan.

Seeing the work in the space is rewarding, and I’ll be juggling coefficients over the coming days recalling the ways artists make work simultaneously personal and interconnected.

Thanks to James and Matthew for supporting this thing, and for gallery folks for all the help.
