some years ask the question and some years give the answer. throughout the past 15 years i have found myself asking what i was protecting by staying away from my first great love, theatre. my answer was never clear, it was full of fear and uncertainty. i thought staying away, only being a spectator was what felt best and the truth is, for a very long time its what felt safest. if you don’t try you can’t fail. last year that question changed from why aren’t you doing this? to when are you doing it? the answer came when i found the play adaptation of a book i always loved; Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed. to quote her, “it’s seldom that we can draw a direct line between this and that.” my desire to perform on stage was given the green light by a series of yes’s that came from Dana, Danny, and Alex. it came from doing the research searching for a local theater. i decided that the fear was a co-pilot but it was no longer running the show. i have an entirely new respect for anyone who produces theater. the licenses, the cost, finding a company who will give you liability insurance for 4 hours, ticket sales, and the list goes on. this was a staged reading, yes, but it was so much more than that. this was proof that eventually the cocoon is no longer safe. getting back on stage was asking if i could fly. the culmination of directing, producing, and acting in this incredible show on Sunday was a resounding yes. the pride i have in the three wonderful humans that stood beside me on this journey is indescribable. the support from my family, and my husband who got to see me act for the first time, was my foundation. the response from our audience has me steeped in gratitude and floating on a cloud. you may read this and think, girl it’s really not that serious. for me, it is, it was, and art always will be. leap and the net will appear. with love and profound gratitude, Sugar.

☠️ DEATH WIN 6-5 ☠️

A huge team win as Death stepped up to the plate against the formidable @dingoes_baseball and clawed back to take the victory.

The heat didn’t stop @dbingz from sprinting around the bases and scoring the go ahead run thanks to Anna’s huge clutch hit (she also closed out the game!)
