Wings - I had the honor of creating a fairy-themed short for XR Motion @xrmotion @mostalanious as part of their challenge event, sponsored by @polycam3d Polycam 3D Assets. This project was a refreshing creative departure for me an opportunity to explore a concept outside my usual scope. I really enjoyed the process, and the final piece struck a balance between a whimsical aesthetic and the cinematic tone I strive for in all my work. I drew inspiration from a variety of references, and as a result, I was awarded a one-year free subscription to Polycam, a resource I’m truly grateful for, as their assets are incredibly valuable for any 3D artist or studio. Special thanks to Michael, @mostalanious and @ahoagmedia Andrew from XR Motion, @arturojreal and Ellie @dangitdigital @elliemacqueen from Polycam 3D Assets for the opportunity and support.

Last week, we teamed up with @POWRPLNT to host a workshop led by Ellie MacQueen @dangitdigital! ✨

Our guests dove into an interactive crash course, where 3D experts guided them through turning 2D art into holograms and bringing their digital designs to life on Looking Glass displays with Blender. 💻

We believe the future of 3D is for everyone, and we're excited to help make that vision a reality - because holograms are better when shared 🌐

Big thanks to all the attendees who joined us and to everyone who helped make this event happen!

Last weekend I had the joy of attending BCONLA, the first-ever official Blender Conference outside of Amsterdam. It changed my life by bringing so much of my recent work full-circle.

Five years ago, while searching for ways to augment my work as a Technologist in Photo and Video Production at @Harvard’s @CS50, I downloaded Blender and (finally!) never looked back. As though the promise of a free and open-source creation suite weren’t enough, in Blender I found a strong spirit of community. The Blender community’s core values of creativity and innovation, community-driven development, education, accessibility, and inclusivity all rang true to the same ethos that drew so much of my attention when I’d first enrolled in CS50 online and ultimately ended up working for the course, imparting that same sense of community through education to millions of students in-person and online.

For any given toolset within Blender, you’re sure to find countless YouTube channels and Discord servers that are dedicated to resource and knowledge sharing. The idea is simple: collective growth and enablement is empowerment.

Supported by some of the very creatives whose tutorials and walkthroughs I’d been watching and learning from, I eventually became comfortable enough with Blender to start answering questions and making online tutorials and walkthroughs myself. These Blender experiments soon extended beyond my phone screen to augmented and virtual realities, and found me deeply embedded in the XR space.

It was through that content, community, and resources that @lookingglassfactory found their new Community Manager - how could I possibly say "no" to the opportunity to support, showcase, and champion creatives like myself and those around me in the context of bringing their 3D work to a group-viewable third dimension?

Attending Blender Conference in LA as a sponsor through Looking Glass and having the opportunity to represent our community of 3D artists and enthusiasts while providing value and a personal touchpoint for Blender creatives was a dream come true.

10/10 would do it again. And again, and again, and again.

See you at the next BCON!

I love hosting parties, the intentional ones. I'm so proud of coming up with a detailed agenda for the party! Seeing my friends dressed up as their alterego and do exquisite corpse poem exercises together while appreciating homemade food truly bring me joy and love.

How much I love be involved and have my friends indulge me with this experimental concept of immersion!

For the future, I want to create exciting and meaningful activities and grow my community. It was an inspiring event and I'm so grateful that we made it real by showing up and participating. All the poems we made were phenomenal!!

P. S.: I've been reading The Art of Gathering by @priyaparker and it's so insightful that there are so many elements to consider when hosting. And I love to continue iterating through party hosting ❤️.

My inspirations also come from all the professional meetup events I go to in New York. It's magical to gather people together with an idea and a few rules. It's not complicated but requires consistent commitment.

If you are also into hosting parties or have ideas, comment below. Maybe I can make them real 😉.

Till next intentional party 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Love you with longer days and shorter nights ✨
