POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I know things have been quiet around here. I’ve been really focused the last two and a half years on being a parent and I regret nothing. Being home to see a child grow and learn has been the coolest thing and I’m glad I didn’t miss any of these first few years.

But I miss playing music. It’s a part of who I am and am ready to start getting back out there and playing again. I’ve got some new songs recorded I’m excited to release and another show booked later this fall, but I’m starting things off with @saskmusic ‘s acoustic showcase for @ccmaofficial this Friday at 9:45am in the lobby of @tcu_place ! If you got nothing to do on a Friday morning bright and early grab a coffee and I’ll see you there!

On a quiet evening in August, Dancing Sky has its opening night of Hear the Trees. It was a magical evening of story telling by our story tellers. They shared bits of their childhood and how the trees played a role in their memories. There was not a breathe of wind last night but defining the end of the story telling, a chill began to settle in. Autumn is coming and we had a gentle reminder of it while sitting and listening to the stories. Our story tellers wove stories with words and lyrics, bursting into song and a couple of them played the tunes. In the background, off in the distance you could hear the crickets and birds adding their melody and magic to the evening. We may not all be able to sit close to the fire but we plenty of blankets to keep you cosy during the storytelling. Almost like being tucked into your own bed. Sadly the evening must end but everyone can take a piece of the storytelling home. A sapling or acorn, dependent on your commitment and patience of when you would like sit under your tree. Then you head home thinking of the stories you heard this evening. Suddenly you notice all the trees as you leave Meacham and wonder what each of their stories are.

Tonight is Opening Night and our Green Carpet event following the show. Yesterday I sat in on a rehearsal full run. The evening was magical and woven with wonderful stories. We cannot wait to share them with you.

Hear the Trees. Plant a tree.
Let the story grow. There’s something special waiting for you at Dancing Sky Theatre this summer.
When you come to Hear the Trees, every guest will receive their very own tree sapling to take home and plant.

Come for the stories. Stay for the Prairie Picnic and Saskatchewan Sangria. Leave with a little piece of the forest to plant, nurture and watch grow.
It’s more than a night at the theatre—it’s an experience that can keep growing long after the curtain falls.

Special Thank you to PRT Prince Albert nursery. They generously donated the tree saplings for our guests to take home and included a few saplings for us to plant around Dancing Sky Theatre.

Here is what is happening on a Monday at Dancing Sky Theatre the Story Tellers and our AD have gathered around the dinning room tables to work on the show, Hear The Trees. The theatre space has been transformed for our contingency plan if we need to move indoors. The amphitheater is ready and waiting for the show to begin. Our GM, well, she was busy doing office stuff and taking these photos. She will begin prepping our gourmet condiments so stay tuned for those photos. 😋 #dancingskytheatre #prairiestories #meacham #saskatchewantheatre
