It doesn’t take a genius to realize what it takes to get to your goals. Now the true realization is whom it is that is willing to do so and sacrifice. Athletes and Parents like to talk the game and say “how much he/she wants it”, or better yet “how great he/she is.” Here’s the BUT…what are you willing to do for it? Vacays every other week because summer ball is over, certainly doesn’t do it. Taking MONTHS off from training ain’t gonna cut it. BUT SURE think it will, and then blame the portal for why there are no opportunities. In no way do I expect every #ftsfamily athlete to sacrifice at my expectation of what it takes. Sh!t I lost years because of sacrifice. Lost friends. Lost opportunities. Lost memories. At the same time, created things that were never expected. Of course it would have been great to have a longer pro career, but that wasn’t the calling. BUT I can’t say I didn’t do all I could have. Opportunities come for those that make the effort when the effort is not warranted. When the effort is so far removed from the normal, that YOU make things happen. I sound like an old horse that can still get to the water trough by himself…but there’s a reason for it. YOU as an athlete and family ask for leadership…with that comes communication for what it takes. So I’ll continue to give it, because it’s necessary. You ask for what the future holds and where it may go, I’ll certainly explain those expectations with fervor and energy. Let’s finish the week strong!!! Good Stuff!!! #fts #ftstrained #mindset #morethanagym

Easier said than done, but it’s NOT just the game. Of course that’s what we strive to compete in, but it’s not it. If done right, the game is the reward. The reward for ALL YOU do and YOUR teammates do to get to it. Outside of football, you get rewards daily or every other day. Football is certainly different. Ever try and play 2 games back to back? How about 2 games in 3 days like the Var/JV format? 🤔 Take the process that gets you to the game(s) and enjoy it. Work at it. Crush it. Come back for more of it. Embrace the suck of it. 🙏🏼 That game will feel like a break. Good Stuff!!! #fts #ftstrained #ftsfamily #mindset #morethanagym

What makes YOU stand out? What’s Different? What’s Special or Innate? You don’t have to be born with it. You can create it. YOU can stand out. Work ethic, intent, purpose, coachability & accountability…all things that affect WHY a coach, fan, peer, may look at you differently. Why be Different? Because this World is made up of sheep getting pushed here or there. Because too many take a free ride rather than create their OWN path. Stumble, people pick you up. Fall, and someone says it’s ok. How about you balance yourself and pick yourself up first…or how about the first 100 times at that. TOO TOO many don’t stand out because they let others dictate his/her path. Sooooo MAKE your OWN. It may not be at the highest level of athletics…but it can be somewhere. If can BE YOUR BEST. Parents give excuses…he’s sore, she’s busy…100% right, but how about managing it better. “Did you eat today?” “Well ahh no, but…” “Oh we spent the past 4 days at the beach, but we want to qualify…” OK peeps…don’t say ya wanna be Different or Special…WORK for it and find someone whom can assist and guide. Then guess what? PUT IN THE TIME TO STAND OUT!!!! Good Stuff!!! #fts #ftsfamily #ftstrained #bedifferent #mindset
