Wowzers, it’s officially been a year since I dropped Because We’re Alive and I couldn’t be more proud of what we accomplished throughout this entire campaign. There is no better feeling in the world than accomplishing everything you set out to do (and then some).

I told my team when we met back in 2019 that I wanted this to be the be the most impactful album of my career both sonically and globally. I made this body of work with careful intention and pieced it together with such an amazingly talented group of people.

People always ask me if I’ve signed a deal and I’d like to clarify that I am still and probably always will be an independent artist.

I love being fully in charge how my art is packaged and delivered.

I’m so proud of this path I’ve created for myself and hopefully for others too.

This journey has been nothing short of transcendent in every possible way but it’s only through true sacrifice that I’m even in a position to write these words. Besides a handful of close friends literally no one ever believed in me, and I’m pretty sure a few of those close friends didn’t imagine I’d make it this far either.

I’ve never been one to glorify the hustle because if you’ve actually been through evictions and an empty stomach for days you know there’s nothing beautiful about it. What I do glorify is the hustle, determination and sacrifice required to make a life out of something you love and believe in.

As I close this wonderful chapter and embark on the next decade of my career I’d like to take a moment to thank my team!

First and foremost thank you @sirsugewhite for being my brother and right hand man. You kicked down so many doors for me I’ll be your brother til the fuckin wheels fall off.

Thank you @cormac.mcgee for your patience and incredible insight, you are someone I love and admire. I cherish all of our memories deeply & I’m excited to make more.

Thank you @drewyorke for always been the most supportive fan, friend and brother i could ask for. Your input on this album was key, you literally birthed the name ‘KING OF THE TOWN’ and people NEED to be aware of this!

The love and feedback for #YW5 has truly been unbelievable. I’m so happy y’all are rockin with these records! I honestly recorded half of these remixes in October and wasn’t sure I could get them done in time because I’m also in the middle of working on 3 separate albums. Luckily I pulled it off and I’m currently excited as fuck the next chapter.

This independent road only gets more & more complicated the bigger I get and I’m proud to say I grew up long before I blew up which left me equipped with all the necessary tools with which I’m using to carve out my own lane in this crazy industry.

It’s November now and my birthday is in 10 days which is surreal, my girl and I are going to fly out to the Dominican for a much needed reset. October was litty too, I got to touch the stage with my brother @boyfrn and it was magical, oh and Because We’re Alive is well on the way to 4 million streams on @spotify which I think is pretty fire. I love impressing myself, it’s a dope feeling that I think I’ll chase forever.

Whatever path you’re on or whatever dream you’re chasing be sure to stick to it and do at least one thing a day that gets you closer to actualizing your vision. Remember every step forward is a step in the right direction 🍄❤️
